Its not too vintage, but I just started playing the first Paper Mario game from 2001. Doesn't have the humor of the later ones, but still a good time.

my very first system was an intellivision, i use to stay up late into the night playing this and night stalker (give that game a try). i didnt have an atari until many years later.

its hard to imagine it but you could say a game from ten years ago is vintage now. that was on the n64 right? i still havent played majoria mask yet i skipped it because its a beat the time type of game. at least thats what i was told by a friend. havent played paper mario yet either, i'll probably get around to it at some point...

The Intellivision is a great system. Pac-Man for the Intellivision absolutely puts the 2600 version to shame.

back when i was a wee lad (around 9 or so) back in 83, the atari was the system to have. i thought the intellivision was inferior just because EVERYONE had an atari. really the intellivision is a good deal more powerful. atari had more publishers (which of course is the reason so many games are so bad to)

River Raid, probably the most addictive game on any vintage system, save for Yar's Revenge, which when you get too far, simply crashes....

Totally, both the Intellivision and Colecovision smoked the Atari 2600's graphics. The Colecovision was insane for its day. Awesome arcade ports. I still remember walking into a store as a kid and seeing a Colecovision running for the first time. The store had Donkey Kong running. I was like, whoa.
My first game console was actually the 5200. Loved it! Before the controllers broke anyways. Great graphics and sound. I think it would be a much more beloved system if the controllers weren't so bad.

the 5200 was one of atari's many blunders when it could have and should have been a hit. they remind me of sega in so many ways with how the saturn and dreamcast did. the 7800 was SUPPOSE to have been released in 84 (the controller and size of the 5200 were a big deal) and by the time they did release it the NES was already kickin the old games to the curve. i wonder sometimes what things would have been like if atari had manage to dominate. super mario bros and alex kidd on the 7800!

the colecovision was fantastic. it managed to have great ports of frogger and q bert and a number of others. unfortunately this is another system back in the day that was really expensive so i didnt know anyone who had one. i just played it at toystores. this system was a casualty of the "video game crash" in 84. i for one dont really feel games went downhill that much, i was just as in to them as i was when i was younger. we use to have some great ms pacman tournaments around town way into the time the nes was released.

It did have some really nice looking and sounding games. I believe it had a better sound chip than the 7800.

its been a long time since i played a5200 to compare the sound. i think the 7800 had a better color palette though and was smoother. the technology of the two is about the same time period though... i know the atari xe computer is just about the same as a xl (and really not much stronger graphics wise than an 7800)
were you around amigas and atari st computers back in the late 80s early 90s? i still wish i had one or both of these computers, lol

Tweaking things a bit, back in the day I thought Jungle King/Hunt was Ok but mostly an afterthought. After getting to play it again on a cabinet it would probably make my top 5 and has given my Taito Legends PS2 disc more use than it's seen it some time.

I enjoy a good game of Galaga. I used to play it as a kid but was horrible at it...I think my game would last about 30 seconds. Now I can at least get a good quarter's worth of fun out of it.

one of the things i want if and ever i have the money is a nice size funroom. in it will not only have all the megos and toys i grew up with but at least a pinball machine, billards table, and a few dedicated cabinets with MAME machines. can dream cant i?:smiley1:

Rad Racer for the NES. It's kinda like Pole Position but, you know, more rad and in 3-D.
Burger Time for the NES. Nice port. Looks good, sounds good, hard as heck.

Rad racer is absolutely awesome. it would have done great as a arcade game. i think i like it better than outrun.
newest game im into is outrun turbo on MAME. alsome graphics and challenging stages!

been getting into Smash TV lately. Its not totally a new game to me, i had played it a few times when it first came out and then forgot about it. Its a pretty intense game, i wish i had someone to play it along with.

I bought the Sega Genesis collection for PS3. It has some of my favorites: Golden Axe, Columns and (to a lesser degree) Streets of Rage.
I also like the old X-Men arcade and TMNT arcade.
River Raid is awesome! Forgot about that one. I also like 1941 and 1942.
Anyone remember Star Raiders - Wikimedia Error (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_raiders) That game was lots of fun. I remember playing that as a kid.

That game was beastly hard for a single player.
