That's about all they are saying. No firm release date specified.

As much as I love this line, if it's fate is riding on the sales of some guy named Kyle, I think the writing is on the wall.

Being one that was obviously super in love with the line, at this point I have to use this generations catch phrase "whatever". While I would/will pick one up it's not the same as it was before. We know the line is done. This guy will be the last of his kind so that may see more "speculators" snatch him up for the secondary market and I simply won't pay those prices for this character. It's not worth it to me.
For me all the fun has been taken out of the RA line now. My money (once I have extra scratch again) is going to stay closer to home, i.e. EMCE, Bif,Bang,Pow, Castaway and yes, even more Brick Mantooths. All of those folks have EARNED my business, respect and trust. Mattel? Not so much.
Perhaps Kyle here will all of the sudden sell like gangbusters and saves the line in some way, I still will be skiddish. In that unlikely scenario I'd keep my eyes open for Matty exclusive Robin, Supergirl, Joker, Toyman and other such must haves. I however wouldn't trust them enough to join a club for $30+ a month for the hope that one of those figures would eventually end up in the chute. The actions of Mattel have made it very difficult to allow for that kind of confidence. In fact it's soured me so that I'd go as far to say that I feel the same way towards other Mattel product such as Monster High, which the wife loves. Despite its apparent growing popularity who's to say that the mighty matty doesn't just up and kill the undead just because?
So long Mattel, thanks for the fun but in the end again I stress I'm keeping my cash closer to home and encourage others to do the same or at least think about it.

I'm still thinking that fan support will and can help! Mattel gambled big on taking on this format and applaud them for trying in the first place! I think it is up to the consumer to support this franchise! I'm looking forward to Kyle and hope to see the rest of the figures make it to Matty.

I was ready to buy a Kyle and then they pulled him back, now I am kinda over Kyle. If I get one cool if not then I'm fine with it either way now.

I wish there was a general sense of support for RA and the success of this line! QWho cares if it gets pushed back another week? I don't understand the attitude agains purchasing a new mego because it is a month or two late. It is a new MEGO! Cool! Doc gets my unwavering support!

I for one want a Kyle, I think he was a bold choice and worthy of a Mego figure. I continue to support the line, I am hoping for more Mego's. The negativity is getting too loud. My hope is that Matty will continue the line, maybe I am a wishful thinker but I refuse to call it over just yet.

I think it will be over with Kyle man but lets hope it's not (whishful thinking) it's a shame cause there are endless possibilites with this line and kudos to the Doc and all envolved, they have worked there butt off to get all this to market.Lets hope there is more to come not just from the Mattel line.
Just my 2 pence in English money. :wink_y:

I never understood Mattel. For years they lamented the fact they could never get their foot back in the door with boys toys.2002 came along, they got back in with the return of MOTU,then jumped back out. Their DC stuff lasted a little bit longer but for the most part, they're back out again. How much longer will it be before they do the same thing with the rest of their lines?

THey are doing it now with the other DC lines, JLU is dead, they are working on killing DCUC right now.

Thing is, my friend collects Heman and Mattel has kept that going through Matty collector for years now...so anything is possible.

Not sure I see it happening that way...for example the DCUC line has been VERY popular for Mattel, and yet they're ended it at retail and moving it to subscription only through Matty. But the thing is they've extended the deadline for the subscription once already and they were nowhere near the number they needed to see this thing continue.
So I don't see them bending over backward to offer up Retro-Action through subscription for a few hundred Mego fans....

Retro Action Robin.... - Topic (http://forums.mattycollector.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/2131094575/m/3021019407)
While it is great that 500 fans have signed a petition, that is just not a high enough number (not even in the ball park really) to keep a line going. This is a perfect example of a small handful of fans being very loud and supportive online. For a line to continue we need to hit a min number of units and 500 is not even close to this number. At min we are talking multiple thousands of units for any one item. 500 people is just not enough to get an item going.
Is Retro Kyle on Sale July 15th? - Topic (http://forums.mattycollector.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/2131094575/m/2461073307)
We wanted to make some last minute adjustments to him to ensure he had a ring on his hand. So he will be pushed out a month or so. If you want to see more Retro figs we seriously suggest you support this figure.

It doesn't really matter much at this late stage if the game, but it's a real shame that the loudest advocates for Retros over on the Matty boards come off as entitled and rude.
Young Justice Retro Action Figures... - Topic (http://forums.mattycollector.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/2131094575/m/9691058407?r=9691058407#9691058407)
There just wasn't a large enough customer base to keep Retro Action going. If we can't sell enough Batman, Superman and Green Lantern in this style, it is unlikely we can sell more of a less well known (by the general public) character from Young Justice. While the RA fans are very loud online, in the end their are just not enough of them to support the line at this time.

Dear God, if the Line depends on GL kyle it's DOA.....you would think they"d do the Joker as a Life line and an easy no brainer sale for the line........but no it's never that easy right?

I don't care if they come out with this one or not.
It would save me some cash, so I could buy something else.
Besides, he does not even fit into the retro line.
I say no one buy it. Let them eat it.

Yep. If Mattel can't even see their way to finishing the line with a Robin, then let these things sit in a warehouse to teach them a lesson

We accounted for a few hundred Green Arrows when we did the count off at the start of this roller coaster ride. If even us hardcore Megoheads here can't even scrounge up enough enthusiasm for less than 100 Kyle's, then that pretty much says it all.
Although this might also just be following the greater trend of fatigue towards the mountains of DC product that we have been spoiled with over the past decade. If the DCUC and JLU aren't cutting it at Matty, then there really isn't much hope leftover.
Let's hold out for that small hope they can get the planet's aligned either at DCD/Diamond or BBP/Entertainment Earth.
Either way, let's not forget that 21 NEW DC Megos is an incredible accomplishment, even if we didn't get a couple of the Big Guns.

That seems to be the crux of the Matty financial model that toy guru and co are describing... A customer base for the line that is guaranteed to buy each and every figure for the line. Like their Masters of the Universe classics collectors.
to sustain the line, they need to sell as many of that elephant guy as He-man and skelator.
While it's nice to have that extra layer of fan who will pick or choose the ones they want, folks like me who will collect them all out of love for the format seem to be limited to a few hundred of us.
On the other hand... What if they did do all the big guns first like the Super powers line of the eighties? It probably wouldn't necessarily given the line a chance to survive past the second stringers.

Matty needs Die Hards to support the line even when they are bullish! I'm with you! I never wanted a Martian Manhunter but I grew to love him when he arrived! I kinda like how the RA opened me up to new figures that would have put me off at another time! Their model is actually for die hard lovers. I hope doc to see all of the figures DOC has pioneered for this collection! Thanks again I have had a blast collecting these despite the problems that arose!

OK, it is the 15th again. Don't see any mention of Kyle on Matty today.
They are gonna have a harder and harder time mustering up sales for him if it gets delayed much longer.

Who knows? Maybe with the delay they can have time to really build up interest and do big ole marketing push when he's finally ready?
Yeah, right. I know hat is the least likely scenario. I'd almost bet that at this point they would prefer him and the thought of him to fade off into obscurity. Call me cynical but that's what's happened due to the violation of my trust on Mattel's part.

I can't find him anywhere on the site by searching. "Kyle", "Green", "Lantern" don't return anything on him.
MattyCollector.com Online Store - Retro-Action™ (http://www.mattycollector.com/store/matty/en_US/DisplayCategoryProductListPage/categoryID.35279900/parentCategoryID.12524500)
Does't list him either.
I was going to order 2 instead of my normal 1 just in hopes that it would make a difference.

Kyle's original page is still up, MattyCollector.com Online Store - DCU, Green Lantern Figure (http://www.mattycollector.com/store/matty/en_US/DisplayProductDetailsPage/productID.227590400), but it doesn't show up on search and the order date hasn't been updated.

What if we all interpreted this wrong? What if by "Future of RA depends on the sales of Kyle," Matty meant to say that if they could figure out how to, you know, actually put him up for sale, then the RA line might have a chance to continue?
B! You gotta get over there and show them how to set-up a shopping cart, Stat!
