Hi,

Does anyone have the Classic TV Toys Robin Hood & Merry Men figures? I love the look of this line, its one I never saw when I was growing up. It would be far more economical to acquire these replicas, than the original megos.

Thanks,

Chris

I have them yes they are very economical. there is a whole string of comments on CTVT and quality but here is the high level. Most of the earlier bodies are poorly strung so they have some trouble posing. the heads are rotocast like vintage mego and look very nice. colors of most accessories are not perfect but very passable (look at the accessory check on the robin hood musuem entry for more info there) many of the vendors have them boxed or loose and so does ebay (some right from CTVT). Friar tuck is the worst of the lot but that comes from the figure himself not the CTVT repro. I beleive Doc mego has also made repros (7th St toys) but his heads are hard cast not rubber but also look great

Thank you! I wanted to make sure they were as good as they looked, before I bought the set. I think you can even buy them directly from CTVT themselves.

Hey Censy, you can probably get them cheaper on ebay.

They display very nicely. I don't know about the others, but the Robin face looks remarkably similar to the Mego one. I think they did a good job on this line.

Yes, I do love that RH sculpt.

You're right, I saw the set of four on ebay last night for $30. Pretty good price, I'd say.

Thanks for the feedback.

check all the vendors sites (megostore, megoville, ctvt etc) and do some ebay store searches before you buy so you can find the best price for you. If the body is too loose for you check the older strings I am pretty sure there were some hints to correct that or you can always put the head and uniform on a vintage body

You can get the complete set from CTVT loose for $20. That's what I did (saves me the hassle of ripping them out of the boxes)

Just ordered them from CTVT site. Actually, starting with just Robin and Will. Only $10 each including packaging. Can't complain about that.

Thank again for the feedback everyone.

I have then and I really like them. I would check with Hulk at megoville before I went to CTVT.

I finally bought the CTVT Robin Hood and Will Scarlet and have to say they are gorgeous figures. If anyone is on the fence about these, I highly recommend them. Great head sculpts, bright, colorful costumes, lots of accessories and they look faithful to the originals to me.

I love 'em!
