God, I loved The Cat! Still have the first three issues. Mint. I had SUCH a crush on Patsy Walker!

Wasn't the Cat originally Greer Nelson aka Tigra, not Patsy Walker?

Oh you and me both, I bought any Cat or Hellcat comic as a kid. I did not know why....now I know!

Oh and that looks like a Spidey superstory if I ever saw one Anthony ;)

Damn! You're right. son! Greer Nelson. It's been THAT long since I've looked through an issue! Thanks for the refresher, dude! Man----getting old is hell, you even forget your crushes' names...!

BTW, has anyone done a custom of her...?

Thanks for posting that cover, Samurai! I haven't looked at it in quite some time. Gonna have to check my LCS and see if they put that out as a trade. Would be nice to go back and read the stories again. Isn't it amazing how similar all the first issues of a character looked in those days from Marvel---y'know, central character shot and then a collage around 'em. They don't make 'em like that anymore....!

Only the first issue.
Amazon.com: Women of Marvel, Vol. 1 (9780785122197): Stan Lee, Gerry Conway, Roy Thomas, Tom Defalco, Don Heck, John Romita, John Buscema: Books (http://www.amazon.com/Women-Marvel-Vol-Stan-Lee/dp/0785122192/ref=pd_sim_b_1)

I'd imagine if they ever did collect those issues of The Cat, they would in be some kind of "Essential Tigra" collection along with the Giant Sized Werewolf, and Marvel Chillers. Not sure if this would happen short of the character appearing in a future Avengers film. (or Frank Cho and Brian Bendis waking up one day and deciding they wanted to do a new miniseries).

I would LOVE to see an Alex Ross take on The Cat. That would be sooo sweet!

And he paints his name on the side to top it off.

And he paints his name on the side to top it off.

That's to make sure he gets in the right 'copter and doesn't wind up in say Mephisto's helicopter or The Abomination's helicopter....

It's amazing where these threads travel to once they get started down a winding path! It's part of what makes this so much FUN! It's kind of like being in a wibbly wobbley timey whimey TARDIS on the Internet!

Sweet. Evidently, he must've been more a Tigra fan than a Cat fan since Tigra is somewhat more prominent....

She was one of the more popular imports back in the day wasn't she?
(I think she was part of the Studio Proteus packaging jobs?)

I always felt that UruseiYatsura was more popular with the pros than the fans. Ranma seemed more of a fan fave.
