    Evel Knievel/Derry Daring

With all due respect to Megos, these were the best darn ACTION toys, period! I only had Derry Daring (girl version) as a kid, but now I have several Evels & Derrys and cycles as well as the wheelie car, 2 dragsters, a funny car, 2 stadium playsets, a daredevil playset, videos of Evel's stunts and bio, and 2 t-shirts!

Any other Evel Knievel toy fans out there?

I don't even remember Derry Daring as a kid, but I thoroughly enjoyed my Evel vehicle sets. For vehicle playability, they had Mego beat hands down. But action figure wise, they were sad.

Had Evel, and my sis had Derry. We used to rev them up and crash them into each other all the time. Mine also ate the basement stairs wuite a bit.

Yeah, I had the basic stunt cycle. One of the best toys I ever owned. I used to build ramps and allsorts for him. I could never get him to flip like the TV ad though.

I have the Playing Mantis reissue now, or should I say my kids have it. I thought it was wasted sat on top of a cupboard unused so I let the kids loose with it. We all have fun with it now. It also seems to get a lot of use when the adults come around for a drink or ten. It`s amazing how many people are willing to lie under a makeshift ramp when they are p*ssed.

Evel was awesome. Such a cool toy that I bought one of the re-issues when they were out a little while back. Still a cool toy. I think I enjoyed jumping stuff with it more than my son did.

One of the best toys from the 70's hands-down! I'd love to get one someday soon!

Evel had to be one of the greatest TOYS ever. For hours of endless play value, it can't be beat. I still have my original EK stunt cycle, but my parents got me the PM reissue for Christmas in the late 90s.

Anyone here have Team America stuff? EK regurgitated, plus some! I had the stunt cycle (again) with the little hard plastic rider. I also had the dune buggy with the Hispanic guy (Lobo?).

I love it too and even Ideal's Team America line that followed it. So much fun then and still are today!!

As far as fun and excitement, I would have to say that the Evel Stunt Cycle was the best toy of all time.

                          Oh yeah!!

                          A major EK fan..
I'd love to see pics of your collection.

Ideal is supposed to reissue Derry Daring this year as they did with EK a couple years ago, I've heard about it once, but I have not heard any more about it.

My brother, my cousin and I all got them for Christmas the same year. They were great toys. Later, I got the Team America set with Captain America on a chopper as opposed to a regular bike, although he was a solid rider and not articulated at all. At least, I don't think he was. Great concept. They should have used that revving technology more often. They should use it now.

Oh man! That would be soooo awesome if they did that! I have many fond memories of Derry jumping my Matchbox cars, crashing thru walls of dominoes and jumping book ramps in our apartment. I even had a Derry rodeo figure. Very cool!
