They probably are favoring half hour comedies over hour crime/mystery/adventure stories
That sux because a good channel needs balance

From what I have been reading RTV had no control on what happend .Since they dont own any of the rights to the shows they were just Leasing from NBC.As for the comedies Im glad ANTENNATV is all about comedies and they are leasing from SONY-TRISTAR so Im covered Thank God.The only show I watch on RTV now is Starsky and Hutch

There's a lot of stuff on AntennaTV I don't like
I find it impossible to watch Father Knows Best and Burns & Allen among others

Are RTV or AntenneaTV widely available? I don't think I have either with Time Warner here in NY.
As for Comcast, they may well be planning a retro channel of their own. There were a lot of fears that Comcast would start using tactics just like this to promote their own properties. I guess we'll see.

I always get channels after their line-ups star to suck! :enraged: And it's bad enough that I only get that channel from noon to midnight, but now I don't get to watch anything good when I'm home. I watch Starsky and Hutch, Police Story, and sometimes Highway to Heaven and Daniel Boone. Thank goodness I have MeTV. I can watch Cannon, Big Valley, Mary Tyler Moore, Dick Van Dyke, Odd Couple, Hawaii 5-0, My Three Sons and Family Affair.
And don't forget the Hub. I can still watch Happy Days, Laverne and Shirley, Family Ties and Batman.

I'm not 100% sure but I heard RTV is only on the Pacific coast
As for AntenneaTV, my local one is piggie backed on a local channel.

We used to get RTV but they switched in January to antennaTv. ATV is all comedies, which is ok, but I'd prefer a n evening lineup of some action & drama too. Thank God when we did have RTV I was able to see all the episodes of ELLERY QUEEN with Jim Hutton, a favorite show not out on legit DVD, although it was cut badly with the openings trimmed off.
As an aside to that, any LEVERAGE fans here catch Timothy Hutton's tribute to his dad on last week's episode?
The team investigated a Murder Mystery party and all the characters dressed as famous detectives ...with Hutton dressed as his father as Ellery Queen. Nice, although I kept waiting for a Nero wolfe reference that didn't happen (Hutton was Archie Goodwin on the Wolfe series).
There's always a lot of reference to pop-culture & sci-fi on the show if you watch closely...for example, once they had aliases and the names were all actors who played Doctor Who- Tom Baker, Peter Davison...

Actually RTV is anywhere someone will pick them up. If I'm not mistaken this is the same group that originated out of Little Rock, AR but folded and now have moved their operations to Memphis, TN.
What's funny though, most of the shows that you see on any of the aforementioned networks can be picked up on DVD for cheap these days. I prefer this method myself.

I loved watching RTV when I visit my parents. I only wish they would air on Direct TV

Jim, I have a lot of those shows on DVD, but I would still stop and watch on broadcast TV. I don't know why exactly, but I think there is a part of me that like the station playing a show, it throws me back to when it was first run and I had no pause or rewind button. There is also the slight thrill that somewhere in the country someone is also watching Rockford Files or Galactica at the same time I am. (Gives me hope that I am not just some random nerd with a portable DVD player) :silly:

I'm gonna miss Battlestar Galactica & Buck Rogers being on every Saturday night. Even though I have both serires on DVD. There really is something special about the shows being on the air.
