hmmm,
Tom Baker is running at no.2 on all the lists.
Interesting :)
I do admit to one thing ......
I'm starting to like Sly more and more.
When he was the current Doctor I hated him....
Today, he's slowly but surely creeping up higher on my lists.
I wish I owned more of his stories to see them.
I only own about 5 or 6 now.

I was not not allowed to watch Doctor Who as a child, my Mum and my younger brother thought it was too scary, even the music used to drive my brother into screaming fits.
I did get to see a few Tom Baker shows and I had the Action Figure and Tadis.
So my list of favorites is:
1. David Tennant
2. Christopher Eccleston
3. Tom Baker
4. Peter Davison

Sylv was definately getting bettter and better as the Dr after he finished the stories inherited from Colin Baker (season 24) and I wish they had done another season after 26 'cos the plans for it were pretty damn good...ho hum. Pity to see Hartnell down the bottom, some of his stories were obviously slow and hard going by todays standards but there are some real gems in there like "The Aztecs","The Time Meddler", "The Daleks" and "The Sensorites"

In no particular order:
Dr. Zaius

Dr. Zoran
Dr. Malthus
Dr. Hasslein

Tom baker is #1 for me he was the first I ever saw and his tenure was very long
2. Patrick Troughton - sadly so few of his shows are intact
3. Jon Pertwee - I love bessie and UNIT
4. William Hartnell - sadly most of his episodes are lost but the ones I have seen even parts of were incredible
5. Peter Davison - his last season suffered from a lack of effects budget (or maybe they were just bad transfers my PBS station got I can't say) but it didn't do too much to take the luster off his reign
6. David Tennant - he has really climbed his way up
7. Paul MaGann I actually like the fox tv movie
8. Christopher Eccleston - wish he had wanted to do more than 1 season
9. Colin Baker
10. Sylvester McCoy
we only have 3 regenerations left before they have to retcon why there can be more new Doctors

You're missing some good stuff if you haven't seen the other Doctors.
Example:
I might have William Hartnell listed as one of my least liked Doctors--- but one of my all time favourite stories is THE DALEK INVASION OF EARTH.
Same with Sly McCoy's REMEMBRANCE OF THE DALEKS.
>I'm starting to like Sly more and more.
When he was the current Doctor I hated him....
It always seemed to me like they WANTED to do more with him than they actually did; and a lot of the episodes have weird unresolved threads and halfhearted scenes. When I saw the new stuff, it struck me as what they WANTED to do with McCoy, but for whatever reason didin't. "Curse of Fenris" is a good example. I've read the book; and it filled in a lot of the blanks.
Plus, Ace is my fave companion. (Just as hostile as Leela or Jamie, but with more explosives and less attention span. And hyjinx ensue...)
>Same with Sly McCoy's REMEMBRANCE OF THE DALEKS.
Probably my favouritest episode EVER! Daleks, an evil school and a cosmic powered baseball bat.... Mmmmm.... cosmic baseball bat....
>Pity to see Hartnell down the bottom,
Yeah. What I thought was funny about him was how much of a jerk he was! He used to use the two teachers as bait and distractions A LOT!
>Patrick Troughton - sadly so few of his shows are intact
True! The ones I've seen were great; and I think he'd score much higher if I'd seen more. Such an odd little man.....

I have to amend my list I forgot Peter Cushing (ok he is really just playing William hartnell's Dr in remakes) but I still like him better than Colin and Sylvester

I like Peter Cushing in just about everything ... But I was never happy about is portrayal of "Dr Who"
I know the 2 Dalek movies were made especially for the tikes, but a lot of people don't realize these movies were made in the first place because of the success of Bill Hartnell's Doctor to begin with.
Peter Cushing was a great actor--- one of the bests.... But I hated his portrayal of Dr Who.
It just wasn't realistic and true to the story.
Colin, I always liked.
Colin reminded me a lot of William Hartnell's Doctor.
To me, Sly was like a dark Pat--which I only started to discover recently.
You will never find a Sly fan who doesn't like Patrick Troughton as well.

Two comments don't make it a hijacking... Many things have a way of starting off as one topic only to have it change to something else... That, or some people whip in sarcastic or funny comments...
Besides that, I don't mind STAR TREK...

I welcome Apes comments....it was a humourous take on the thread...and his comments have sparked some interesting debates on other threads. As long as the comments and discussions do not take over..in which case it should be opened up as a seperate thread... and stop people posting, then i'm fine with it.
