I never thought my comic book store was going to order this book so I did not ask them about it. Consequently, I ordered it from Amazon and now I anxiously await it's arrival.

Meanwhile, when I was at my comic shoppe this weekend, though, the manager said he had a surprise for me. He knows I am a customizer and a rabid Mego WGSH fan so he ordered one just for me without telling me. How cool is that?!?!

Surrounded by a half dozen curious comic book geeks, I spent about an hour in the shoppe going through the book page by page as I told them about every detail and anecdote I could remember. I pointed out Berto's Aquaman, the Megocon Q and A of Neal Kublan and Marty Abrahms, Dan's incredible carded collection, the annual Mego Meet and many other tidbits.

I was even able to show them my contribution, small as it may be (the plastic snaps Batman). I had a huge sense of pride come over me knowing that during this incredible journey by Benjamin there was a stop in my collection along the way.

Thanks to Ben for the acknowledgment to me in the book. My minor contribution pales in comparison to those of Dan, Brian, Rob and many others. So, to be be recognized with the likes of those contributors, I am absolutely over-whelmed.

Ben you are one classy guy!

Here's to Volume 2!!!! :terror:

Thanks,

Austin

I am chomping at the bit to get this book, argh! Meanwhile, the comic shop nearest me (on the South Side of Chicago) does not have the book....matter of fact, when I asked the kid behind the counter if he happened to know if and when the book would arrive, he said (and I quote), "What's 'Mego'?" *sigh* Thankfully I did NOT go to this particular place to order the book, LOL.

Which shop do you frequent? I mainly go to Brainstorm on North Ave. and they didn't have it that I saw.
