Hey Benjamin,
Just wondering if you knew the plan for the $75 signed edition that sold from the publisher.
Just wondered. Of course I'm very excited to get my hands on the book, but understand you have to do a lot of work to get those packages together. I just was wondering if there was a plan. Haven't heard anything from two morrows, but according to my account, they shipped me the book on 9/4/07  I know that's not right.
If you have any info on those editions, please inform.
Thanks!

I was going to start a brand new thread with the following information, but since Dave's query is so relevant, I'll simply post here and hope folks with similar questions actually read this thread.
I awoke this morning to an Email from my publisher announcing that ALL BOOKS ARRIVED THIS MORNING. The guys at TwoMorrows will be working overtime — during Thanksgiving, in fact — fulfilling Collectors Editions, Retail and Amazon.com orders.
Immediately following that Email, I got a somewhat terse Email from an irritated Mego collector, spinning a conspiracy theory about the book.
"Did Tomorrows Publishing underprint the book, make it exclusive to themselves or actually make it available to Amazon and others?"
Yes, "underprint" was bold in the Email. He then added:
"I am frustrated because I was really looking forward to the book and will probably never get it. I'd appreciate any information."
Probably nev-...? Man, tough room.
I have some insight that will hopefully clear things up; there's a reason why comic shops have product while no one else does. The printer is in Hong Kong, and after the books were printed, they were instructed to send two different shipments: The first to our distributor, Diamond (in California), with the remaining books destined for TwoMorrows in North Carolina. It is from the N.C. order that the Collectors Editions, book retailers' and Amazon orders will be fulfilled.
Weeks ago, the first (Diamond) order got on an early boat, consequently arriving first and receiving immediate distribution to comic book shops. The second (TwoMorrows) order landed some time after that, but then it had to be trucked from Long Beach, CA all the way to North Carolina.
That freight truck arrived in N.C. this morning.
As I mentioned, my publishers plans to work non-stop distributing books, including FedExing the Collectors Editions copies to me so that I may sign-and-number, then ship them out personally.
It does look like the book is headed toward selling out. But I expect everyone who has ordered the book (regardless of where they did so) will have it in hand very soon. Hey, I liked The X-Files, too, but there are no conspiracies here, no manipulations or obfuscations.
I realize this means some folks won't have it for Thanksgiving, and for that I apologize. I am pleased, however, that everyone will have it for Christmas!

Thanks much Benjamin. I appreciate the information.
No panic here, well, maybe a touch when I saw the "shipped 9/07 thing"
Just wondered how that was going to be handled compared to the Amazon orders and such. Thanks for clearing it up.
Yeah, I can't fathom why TwoMorrows marked any books as 'already shipped.' That would freak me out!
I hope to receive the Collectors Edition copies by Saturday, so I can work on them this weekend, prepare them for shipping right away and get them sent out... maybe even by Monday? That would be ideal, but that's what I'm hoping for.

Hey,
Ditto on the thanks. Trying to be patient as I wait for my collectors edition volume as well, but, like a kid waiting for X-mas, it is getting harder and harder.

Hey Ben,
I'm anxious, but can wait. Don't kill your long weekend.
Then again, signing a bunch of books you authored after all this time might be an awesome form of recreation.

Can I hold you to that? :wink_y:
