Vintage 5 Mego 1970's Superhero Dolls with Carry Case | eBay (http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-5-Mego-1970s-Superhero-Dolls-Carry-Case-/120726018705?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c1bd4da91)
The seller is local to me, so I am thinking of making an offer. I like the case, but to complete/fix the rest, might end up costing me more money than just buying them in decent shape(?)

I'll give it a shot, but I doubt he'll take it.
"I've been told they still have great value even in this condition"
This tells me he thinks he's sitting on a goldmine. If he doesn't accept my offer, I'll bid.

Galen has the green oxidised hair that people pay more for some reason. I wipe it off.

I don't think it's oxidized, it is a legit paint variation. I distinctly remember seeing Corny/Galen and Zira with shiny green hair like this when I was a kid back in the 70's.

The four heads are worth at least $15-$20. Ironman and Gobby will fetch between $7 and $10 on any given day. GA between $5 and $7. If the Corny is truly a rarer paint variation who knows. The one good T2 Mego body is worth at least $5. The Ironman suit $10-$15. Joker shoes $3 - $5 and the IM belt is $10-$15. Especially since the belts tend to be the rarer of the accessories for IM when they show up on ebay. The rest of the lot is probably worth $5-$10. There is what looks like a good T1 green hand left arm, a T1 white hand right arm, two T1 green legs and a T1 green torso and pelvis. Those pieces alone would be worth $2 each at least if you needed them. I'd say if you're looking at a fair market value, you could go as high as $40 with pickup and no shipping, and still be getting a deal value wise. There are a lot of little things in this lot that when you break it down add up. Plus the case at $5 - $10.

Wouldn't go more than $50 for the lot. Breakdown:
Iron Man Belt $15 - $25
Iron Man outfit $5 - $10
Green Arrow outfit $10 - $15
Green Arrow Head $5 - $10
Iron Man Head $5 - $10
Carrying Case $25 - $35 depending on the color inside (Red Or White) and if the seams are OK
Joker Shoes $10
Average it out and your looking at about $60 - $75 in re-sell.

Very little of this I'd want to resell. I'd be buying it for my own collection.
What annoys me is I had an Iron Man belt and sold it. Not long ago, I thought Mego's were just too rare and expensive for me to collect, so I sold it. Less than a year later, I have 9 Mego figures and only two were purchased online. The rest I found locally.

Well, the seller got back to me and told me somebody told him he "could" get as much as $100 for the lot...so.

I doubt he gets much better than $60. It's probably worth $60 if you're looking for it for yourself.
Case is a red interior but the divider is gone. Looks to be in decent shape overall. divider is easily replaced but not original. The GA suit is missing a cuff.

I made him an offer of $40, but I doubt he'll take it and I am fine with that. In all honesty, I hope he doesn't. I suddenly realized I'd rather put my money towards something better than a junker lot.

Yeah, he "could" also get a non-paying bidder, a high bid of $7.50 (the current bid as I type this), an audit by the IRS or a lottery ticket worth $,1,000,000.
There's an old saying about a bird in the hand... :smiley1:
EDIT: If it were my auction, I'd probably let it ride too. I just think the phrasing is kind of funny.
