Doctor Who TIME CRASH (links in this threat)

    5 meets 10
    2007 Children In Need
Full running time, about 7 minutes

    Part-1
YouTube - CIN - Doctor Who: Time Crash Part 1 of 2

    Part-2
YouTube - CIN - Doctor Who: Time Crash Part 2 of 2

    I liked it.
I only wish it was a full episode long.
One mistake --- how would Davison know about L.I.N.D.A. ?

    Also,
I liked how they explained Davison being older.....
Even to the point of Tennant making fun Davison's jacket cant close

Also, notice 80's style keyboard background music in some scenes

I hope they use the whole thing in the next series dvd boxset, the end of the last series makes a bit more sense now.

When Davison mentioned the TARDIS "desk top theme" was once leapard skin, was he refering to a particual incident ?
Or was that just a joke the writer threw in ?

That was brilliant, the desktop theme thing was a good way of explaining how the doctor's change the Tardis, funny. A really nicely done homage to Davison's Doctor, who I will admit I'm much fonder of now than when it originally aired.

I think my biggest complaint would be Tennant saying "you were my Doctor" at the end.

In reality, Tennant has said on many occassions Tom Baker was his favourite Doctor.

Tennant also seems to have patterned himself after Tom Baker's Doctor as well.

So the "you were my Doctor" comment seemed obviously insincere and gratuitous...

But, I still liked it a real lot

It could have been the writers words, not Tennant's.

                I suspect that as well.

In a way, the scenes when they were together almost remind me of Troughton and Pertwee in BOTH The Three Doctors -- and The Five Doctors.

I almost wish Davison's departure was handled the same way as both stories above...

The ending was ok --- but I just wish Tennant's Doctor wasn't so --- almost groveling.

                edited to add.......
This episode's hype did revive my interest in the Davison era too.
I actually liked this era --- even from the start (not counting the first week I found out Tom Baker's Doctor died and I was mad as hell-- and wondered WHO IS THIS DAMN KID !!! )

When Davison entered the scene I was a ravenous Who fan and I had a lot of hope that this would usher in some change. I liked the new companions and the more serious storylines washed away the camp of earlier seasons.

But his era was a mixed bag, some real clunkers in there, I remember hating "Four to Doomsday" and "Kinda" especially. I also thought Davison struggled intially with finding his character.

However, I always liked him as the Doctor, that worked for me. A recent rewatch of "The Visitation" actually surprised me how good he really was.

That was very cool! I really enjoyed that...as short as it was though.

I always liked the davison years but I think a big part of that was Anthony Ainleys Master was as smooth and debonair as Delgado's (the new master should take notes).

                        Crazy thought I just had.......

Peter Davison (the youngest Doctor Who ever) --- is now--IN TIME CRASH, older than Willaim Hartnell was in his first year as the Doctor in 1963.

Davison is Tennents and Moffets favourite Doctor apparently...I enjoyed the scene as Moffet is easily the best writer of the revamped show. It bugged me slightly that he had obviously been given the job to plaster over the plot holes in the previous series ..such as the line about the shields being down on the TARDIS so the fans wouldn't be in uproar over the fact that the Titanic rips through the TARDIS wall. One thing however...in the first series with Eccleston not only was there a picture of his Doctor with a family on the docks by the Titanic but he also states that he was on a boat once a big one that was said to be unsinkable...does this mean we'll have a cameo of Eccleston in the Xmas special or (more probable) will it be ignored.
                          I wait with bated breath
