Nintendo's Wii successor rumored for this E3

Mulitple game sites have been confirming Nintendo is going to reveal their new console this E3 in June.

The good. Nintendo is trying to recapture third party publishers and core gamers with an HD system on par with or better than the 360 and PS3.

    The bad. Another gimmick controller.

So, the controller is like a small Ipad touch with analog sticks.

It's great they are finally going to release a console that is not based on underpowered antiquated hardware. But then they got to shoe horn in another control gimmick. They finally give us true dual analog sticks but then put them on an freakin' Ipad!? Dammit! I want real buttons! With real buttons you can actually feel how hard you pushing and you don't have to keep looking down at a screen to see if you are touching it in the right spot.

    Dammit!!
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

It will be interesting to see what they come up with, a Wii with graphics capabilities that match the PS3 and XBox 360 would be nice.

Assuming they even release anything (Which if all the major gaming sites are reporting that they will, the probably won't) it won't be anything like the Wii. The Wii is still selling quite good and although it's not winning in total sales anymore, Nintendo is planning a price cut and it will no doubt jump to the top of the heap again. I expect the new system, if and when it ever comes about, to be completely different and not backwards compatible.

Too many people already have Wiis. Nintendo is going to try to sell them another must have device, not a new one to replace their old one. Even though that's the thought in the Nintendo handheld market, I doubt they're going to do that with consoles. Which will prove to be the difference maker for them.

This will be interesting and it's good that it will be backward compatible too.
