Which is something I've never understood.
Unless there's an emotional component (like Landau doesn't want his Space:1999 face monetized or what have you) or a concern for damage to intellectual property (cheap knock off quality or over-saturation) what's the point of holding a dead cult license and not allowing commercial projects?

Well I see the Japanese toy company Medicom got the license for at least one product. A Spinner Car was released with the DVD.
