View Full Version : "Batman Dead End" Joker, in memory of my friend Andrew...

This figure has been a long time coming. Ever since I made the Batman from my little short film, people have been asking me if I was going to make the Joker. So many have said that Andrew Koenig's portrayal of the Joker captured the true look and essence of the character, and I'd have to agree. To be honest, I've always wanted to make this figure, but not until last year when Andrew unfortunately took his own life, did I make a concrete decision to move forward with the project, in his honor.
The straight jacket and pants are by Dave Lepage and the absolutely stunning card was done as a special favor by my old friend Chad Gordy, who also did the card for the Batman. I'm so proud of everyone who contributed to this figure and I'm sure that when I present it to Walter Koenig, that he and the family will appreciate it.
Most of these will be gifts for people involved in the film and like I said above, one will be presented to his family as well. There are a limited amount for the members here, if any are interested. Please PM me for details.
Thanks,
SC

I really liked his Joker as well. It had a Jim Lee feel to it in how he looked. Very scary. I'm sorry to hear he's no longer with us.
I think your figure really captures the likeness and I think you really honor his memory with the whole project.

I'm sorry to hear about your friend... but that is the creepiest thing I've ever seen!
If they ever make a horror movie Batman (which sounds awesome, actually) that would be the perfect looking Joker!
I wouldn't want that on my shelf looking at me.:terror:

Jaw droppingly beautiful Sandy :juggleyes_y: You really captured the look and feel of Mr. Koenig's brilliant portrayal of The Joker. Mr. Koenig's passing was a true tragedy, but his spirit will live on through his body of work. Good for a laugh, a tear, or a maniacally menacing scare, He could do it all. R.I.P. Andrew...
-At the time of his passing I spoke a bit about Mr. Koenig on my podcast (The Fan Film Podcast) You can listen to it here http://www.fanfilmfollies.com/podcast/fan-film-podcast-62

Thanks for sharing this.
I am sorry to hear about your friend.
I actually championed his version over the more popular one.
It seemed more like what I had thought the Joker would actually be:
in your face and scary as hell!
I didn't realize he had passed and I feel sadder for knowing.

Sandy, please don't take this the wrong way. The figure looks fantastic and I know it is coming out of love and respect for your friend. But Andrew Koenig was severely depressed and took his own life. Your depiction of him, in a straight jacket covered in blood... I just wonder how his family would react to that. Just something to be extra sensitive to...

Sprytel might have a valid point.
You and I get excited by this...but we can't predict how his parents would feel about it...you just can't go out on a limb and say they might love it...we don't know that.
It is an awesome figure...but...I dunno...

I dont know about this...It has WRONG written all over it.
Just my two cents
It's your best figure yet.
Coincidentally, I watched Batman Deadend with Richard "Apollo" Hatch at the Chiller show in NJ. After the short Hatch screamed: "Why doesn't the studio hire this guy to direct!?!"

Thats cool that Richard said that and I agree ,But he also knows in Hollywood its not what you do is who you know! His Battlestar Galactica The Second Coming short Trailer in 1999 was brilliant but went nowhere a perfect example
