Apex was the premier worldwide hero. He was the role model for all nations and cultures. He spoke every language and taught the world to embrace humilty and the strength of mercy. All of that ended fifteen years ago when the super villain group called Grave New World set a trap for him and inadvertantly killed his wife and two children in the process. The rest of Ultra City's heroes hunted down and brought the five villains to justice while Apex grieved. During that time, he snapped. He believed his example and message had gone unheard and that a new message needed to be sent.

He broke into the prison GNW was being held and pulled them out. He gathered them in Carson Park where a news camera crew was filming an unrelated story. He made sure the cameras were on him when be began slaughtering the members, pulling them apart and casting the pieces to the ground like empty peanut shells. After this, he went into a self-imposed exile and was not seen again till recently. Black Sun and his island nation has recruited him into their fold with the promise of healing and redemption. He is now the most powerful member of the Black Sun Society. Exactly what their intentions and agenda are remain a mystery.

The figure is a modified Hasbro with a Reprohead Superman head I sculpted the goatee on. I ran out of yellow material, so I dipped into my box of fun and found a FC Vision cape.

Famous covers to the rescue again!

Man, I gotta say your customs are just amazing. Are you sculpting your heads from scratch? They look really great. Your paints are right up there. I wish I could lay down paint like that. As a writer, I'm really impressed with your backstory and your universe of characters. I published a superhero story in an anthology of them. I'm impressed with the thought that goes into not only the characters, the figure, but also the design work. Great job all around.
