I thought it would be a good idea to have some pics of the exclusives in one thread. Looking for these one by one all over the place got tiring. I grabbed these shots from the board. Didn't find all of them so If anyone can help me out to fill in the holes and give credit where credit is due that would be great.

In the past I think at least 1 person made their own custom an exclusive for a Mego gathering. James Brady made a Gene Rodenberry exclusive head for MegoCon, even tho there was an Invisible Man figure produced officially. Someone else made an archer or Robin Hood one year for Mego Meet even tho I think the official figure was Mightor in 8" scale that year. So I think there may be room for more. You should ask the organizers of the event what's permitted tho.

There is only one official Mego Meet Exclusive done each year by Chris, with last years being Indiana Jones. It uses the Mego Meet logo on the box, with this years being Arts.

Any one can make a custom figure to sell. MegoJim has done a couple and of course we have the Wolfman from last year. People typically make a run of about 20-25 and are numbered somehow. We just ask that you not use the Mego Meet logo on any packaging. Text is fine.

Megojim Rules! No really, he does. I was fortunate enough to get my hands on all three of his Mego Meet exclusives thanks to Jim himself and they are proudly displayed in my collection.

So, Jim... what'ya got for this year (he ask hoping for a sneak peak).

The transforming head on Jekyll and Hyde was brilliant.

Last year the Castaway boys had their Adventure Team exclusives with flocked heads.

Random Axe had a really awesome Animal Man.

Dr Chromedome was 2009?
Mightor 2008?

the only negative to come out of having so many "exclusive" mego meet figures is THAT THERE ARE SO MANY EXCLUSIVE MEGO MEET FIGURES. Most of the megomeet regulars are not into customs as much. That means you have more and more customizers competing for a small potental audience. If you're into buying customs and you plan on attending, you win. I for one can tell you that I was sweating bullets when I took a box full to sell and only had one sold by noon on Saturday. Luckily the rest went later that day or early the next week from people who couldn't attend.

uhhh, well, . . . . you can thank Mego as that is an Ivanho head :sarky: but thanks for the kind remarks . . . .

I agree with "boss'" statement, I've brought home figures the last two years (I make 20-25) However, They have sold to non-meet attendees in fairly quick fashion. The talent in this group is unquestionable and with all the other Mego goodness at Mego Meet and more people bringing customs (not that there is anything wrong with that) the water is getting pretty deluted.

Due to a family wedding, I will not be attending MM this year . . . .

You must attend! Having a Mego Meet without one of your customs is going to feel empty.:ugh_y: I know, let them have the wedding at the Toy Museum. :wink_y:

Okay, seriously though, who is making this years official Mego Meet Exclusive and what is it going to be.

you know - i always thought of The mego meet exclusive as the ones Chris and the gang would assemble starting with in 05. There are other exclusives but they are not The exclusive. I have come to think of Jim's as the other exclusive. The others i think of as exclusive to that customizer, special and mego meet exclusivy but not The exclusive.

so The exclusive annually is

Uncle Jesse - 2005
Jet Jungle - 2006
Ghost Rider - 2007
Mightor - 2008
Dr. Kromedome - 2009
Indiana Jones - 2010

Yes, the ones Chris does each year and we assemble on Friday nights are THE Mego Meet exclusive figures. The packaging has the official MM logo on it. But anyone is welcome to sell a custom figure exclusively at MM.

We like to bring stuff, limited runs of things, that might raise a brow if we put them up in the real world. These custom runs are things we can make with China made parts that we think folks will dig... We are not trying to "compete" with the official exclusive or anyone esle for that matter, just having fun with stuff we have :) It's a wonderfest kind of vibe, where nobody sweats the legal isssues and has a chance to buy something they otherwise wouldn't be able to. Ours are always "E@D" or exclusive at debut, meaning we sell them there first and then what's left goes out to the general public.
