Most recent Hasbro X-Wing release?

My son is now majorly into Star Wars. He's into both the classic 3 3/4" size and the little pre-school "Galactic Heroes" line. He likes Luke best, so I'm looking to get him an X-Wing for Christmas. I know Hasbro has rereleased the old Kenner X-Wing (with new electronics, etc), but I'm not sure how recent the last reissue was.

Ebay seems to point to the early days of the Power of the Force (2) line, around 94 or 95. Any more recent releases?

Hey Chris I'm pretty sure there was a newer release with a Luke in the black box and this one in the blue box with R2

the latest one is not the kenner mold. Hasbro came up with a closer to actual scale version in POTF2 (red 5 x wing) the current TRU excl is the same mold without electronics (nose is much longer than the old kenner one). They've actually used this mold ALOT

as of now there is not a slated release for the kenner mold xwing but since they relased it in 2004 after the newer mold was created there is always hope

The currently available TRU excl y wing is a direct decendant of the kenner mold (except now you can't put a droid in the slot) also has been released several times always with some paint variation. The TRU by me here has LOTS of the dagobah xwings and y wings

Wow, thanks guys! Looks like the 2006 TRU one is the one I need to look for. I'm not hung-up on it being the old mold at all, I just assumed that's all they used.

I don't think our local TRU has the X-Wing anymore. They do have the Y-Wing though.

Oh man, I'd love to be able to find it on clearance. There are two other TRUs within driving distance of me. I may have to call them and see if they have them.

yeah the the X-wing/Dagobah id a TRU thing and it was clearanced at our TRU right now. i have a couple but if you don't find one I will pick you one up and send it to you.

Yeah I haven't been to toys r us in a while,but last time i was there they had in on clearance and a lot of other SW stuff as well

There was also a galactic heroes x-wing I think as well as the Millenium Falcon. They are pretty hard to find in shops now ...I remember woolworths selling them a year or so ago then suprise suprise just as I started collecting the galactic heros they stopped stocking them.
