What is this Alien figure (1968)?

I found this Alien figure in a grab bag of toys from a thrift store. I thought he might be a Colorforms Alien/Outer Space Man, but he doesn't match any of the ones in pics I've seen online.

He's dated 1968 on the back, made by Mattel. He's a bendy with a neat translucent head!

You spelled it wrong (close!), but you IDed it right on. That dude was probably my favorite figure when I was five.

Mine too! I've somehow held on to two of my MMM figures but the Callisto was lost years ago.

I think you can snag them off eBay fairly reasonably now. When I first started going there about 12 years ago, he was one of the first things I bought. Loose ones are fairly cheap now--you can get them for like $15 pretty easily, possibly a bit more if all his accessories are included.

Thanks guys! This is a terrific thrift store find then. I know it's only a few years before I was born, but toys dating back to the sixties always seem so exotic and distant to me.

Particularly all the pre-Star Wars space stuff!

Thanks for the link to the Matt Mason page, it's really interesting.
