    My Latest 70's Proclivity

    Live-action Disney Films.

They're overacted, simply written and are rather predictable. But I've really enjoyed them. Not just for the fun, simple stories, but I'm getting a real kick out of the clothes, the cars and the settings. So far, I've taken in 'Herbie Rides Again,' 'The Apple Dumpling Gang' and 'Freaky Friday.'

I especially loved Jodie Foster's house and her friend's clothes in 'Freaky Friday.' I wish I could have captured the scene with the primary-colored kitchen objects (bread, cookie jars) on the wallpaper only to be challenged by the hallway wallpaper with brightly colred cartoon flowers. Here's the only pic I could find-

I think I've been sated because I'm not sure I'm going to watch 'The Shaggy D.A.' I've recorded on the DVR. We'll see.

I loved those movies so much. Parent Trap was huge for this 70s divorce kid.

Love classic live action Disney....besides the aforementioned "Freaky Firday" "Shaggy DA" and "Love Bug" movies, some other favorites of mine were "$1,000,000 Duck", "North Avenue Irregulars", "One of Our Dinosaurs Is Missing", "Blackbeard's Ghost", "That Darn Cat"...

Loved 'em too! Especially the Kurt Russel films. Remember watching them on Sunday night and enjoying the heck out of them.

I wish movies could be like that again. I must have seen That Darn Cat at least three time through a course of six years. I don't think I've ever seen it on anything but a big screen.
                  It's all good!

I've recorded a lot of those on tape. Encore Retro shows them, Hallmark, TCM...yeah. I record a lot! I remember as a kid there was this one movie theatre in NYC that did the Disney Summer Hit Parade (nothing but Disney flicks), and showed almost all of the Disney Live Action movies. My mom and I were there every weekend.

(Do you remember that, Anthony? I miss that commercial).
"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

                        Hmmmm....

It's funny to see Kurt Russel in these, and them "Escape From New York" a few years later.

....and if you get the chance, I always liked "The Cat From Outer Space" and "Unidentified Flying Oddball."
