I know this topic is like, almost a year old now, but oh, man...I was very much into those as a kid. That one especially. My alien became one of the main villains in my toy sessions, and was aptly named Platypus.
I don't suppose - if you happen to still be around, of course and you happen to still have the item - you'd be willing or able to scan/photograph the manual/comic, by chance? I've been feeling the dire urge to read that again for something like 20 years now. O.oComment
