King of Kong is one of my all time favorite documentaries. The story and characters are presented in a way that makes the film appeal to everyone, even those who have no interest in arcade games.

That Donkey Kong machine looks fantastic! Did you do the restoration work on it?

My boss and I still call each other Billy Mitchell when the other one acts kind of full of himself.

Wow! Well I have to say you did an awesome job on restoring it. Congrats on bringing one of the best arcade games from the 80's back to life.

I actually have the DVD and loved. I've heard of another great movie on old school games
called "Chasing Ghosts: Beyond the Arcade" with most fo the same people but it has yet to get a DVD release as far as I know.

King of Kong and Chasing Ghosts are both awesome films. Totally rivetting, especially for people like us who grew up with those games.

For me it was fascinating peek into that sub-culture. I think it really helps put things into perspective about our own obsessions.

I also have it on DVD and think it is a brilliant documentary. My wife still buys my kids the yearly "Guiness book of World Records" and the one from around 2007/2008 does have Steve Wiebe listed as Donkey Kong record holder. It not only was enjoyable to watch for the nostalgia but an actual story within a story that was not hokey or faked. It was really interesting to see the drama unfold.

Is it wrong that after watching the film I REALLY wanted to go shave Billy's head?
