An interesting and tragic story involving customising as therapy.

Sad story, but I thought this was pretty amazing and wanted to share.

When Mark Hogancamp awoke from a coma after being brutally assaulted in 2000, he began to build, with breathtaking attention to detail, a minified fantasy world called Marwencol. The World War II-era town is populated by dolls representing himself (“Caption Hogie”), his friends, and his family; Hogancamp poses and photographs their adventures and relationships. As his website states, “Playing in the town and photographing the action helps Mark to recover his hand-eye coordination and deal with the psychic wounds of the attack.”

The video link tells more of the story and has some fantastic images.

Amazing! He essentially invented his own therapy! Well done!
“As human beings we all want to be happy and free from misery… we have learned that the key to happiness is inner peace. The greatest obstacles to inner peace are disturbing emotions such as anger, attachment, fear and suspicion, while love and compassion and a sense of universal responsibility are the sources of peace and happiness.” - The Dalai Lama

Very cool. That video has been linked throughout the 1:6 community for a while now.
Looking at it that way, I guess I've kind of been in therapy for decades now.
          Bugler, sound the advance.

That was amazing. I want to see the whole movie now.

I wonder how many more Batman and Robin's I'll need to complete my therapy?
