    Guitars of the Stars

The good people at Hakes Americana have a new auction running and this time there is a weath of licensed guitars, some very logical like this ShaNaNa model above and some that are a little more absurd but fun. More photos after the jump:

Did the Sweathogs ever pick up instruments? It doesn't matter, as a child you could strum away on the smiling face of Vinny Barbarino, I'm holding out for a xylophone with the image of Beau De Labarre...

Another one that makes sense for the time, they weren't exactly hard rock but the Bee Gees were HUGE. I personally preferred KISS at the time but I held no umbrage for the Gibb brothers.

I'm seriously condsidering bidding on this.

Hakes Auction #202 runs until February 02, click here to check out the thousands of cool pop culture items.

I've always wondered how well these actually play with someone who could play guitar.

Well, Travolta did try and have a solo singing career, right? And of course, there's Grease...

I like the artwork on the boxes. Robin Gibb looks like he's standing behind an airliner ready for takeoff.

Scott, these don't even really "play", the strings have about as much proper intonation and feel as if you nailed some newspaper rubberbands to a bumpy log, lol.

As a kid I majorly longed for the KISS guitar, and never got it. Instead my mom got me the Bee Gees guitar, which I appreciated but.....yeah it wasn't quite the same thing. Later on I recall that we used that guitar as a bat when we'd play "rock ball" in the back alleyway (yeah, don't ask, it was a bad idea and we got reamed when we got caught batting rocks around with this plastic guitar, haha, oops!)

Now, I'd actually be pretty happy to have that Bee Gees guitar! The Sha-Na-Na one is pretty sweet too.

I'd have to go with the Village People.
