i used to have one long time ago back in the 1990's. bought it for $200. i've seen it as high as $400 and as low as $150. very cool toy. one arm had a retractible rope similar to the remco energizer spiderman and the other arm shot spring loaded missile. only thing i didnt like was that he didnt have his spidey gloves and not as poseable as a mego.

I'd agree that $200-350 is an average price, depending on condition of the box, and completeness. I think it's a really cool toy and I'll have to pony up the bucks for one someday.

I wish!
no, I really want to buy one though as some one I know is trying to sell one to me for $200 Australian dollars, it is mint and complete in it's box. Does any one think I should go for it?

That's about $183 US. As long as the box is in decent condition and the shipping isn't outrageous, that sounds like a good price to me. I'd go for it. :)

it is like the Mego Spidey, except he is about 1 inch or so taller, his head is also different, his face look's a bit more pointy at the front, like they added his nose unlike the American spidey.
His hands are also flesh colored I think. It is very mego-esque, but it smell's of Japanese Anime a lot!

I WILL be buying him though, I'll tell you guys what, when I get him, in a few weeks time Ill put up pic's of him with pic's of my whole collection in the Toy Room section.
Don't worry, I wont be letting this one go

the toy was based on a japanese live action show. spiderman when in trouble jumps into a huge robot and uses the robot to beat up the bad guy.

yeah you are right, I am trying to get my hands on that show, it's look hilarious to say the least, the Japanese always know how to make thing's really weird. In fact you can buy that robot to go with Spiderman, Popy made it aswell.

Yeah, Popy made several toys of the robot, Leopardon, including two diecast Chogokin versions, a couple vinyl and plastic ones, and best of all, a two foot tall Jumbo Machinder version, that also included a plastic figure of Spider-man. That one would be awesome to own, but would cost thousands of dollars, if you could find one. He looks fantastic though. :)

Bandai did a new diecast version of Leopardon recently, as a part of their Soul of Chogokin line, and it also included a vinyl Spider-man. I think he's a really sharp looking robot.

BTW, the TV show was officially released in a DVD box set in Japan, but it is very expensive, and unfortunately it has no English subs. But there are "grey market" subbed DVDs of the show floating around on ebay, etc.

I have to ask some thing, is this popy 9 inch spiderman we have been talking about even Mego?
Like I know popy made it, but is it a Mego item? Like how Ensueño item's are Mego?

starsky

no it's not mego. it's all popy. the fabric of the costume is almost like silk and is very soft.

damn it!
I was going to buy it, I thought it was a japanese version of the spiderman Mego!
I know that they released spidey in a popy box but I though this was their version of it. I don't collect popy so I wont be buying it.
