    "The Car" game, no really

The folks at Kenner did some incredibly smart moves like the Six Million Dollar Man and Star Wars, we can't forget they also thought up things Milky the Milking Cow and actually tried to market a game based on the 1977 Horror film "The Car".

For those not in the know, this was movie about a possessed car that runs people over, it starred James Brolin and it's the kind cheese you expect it to be. I'm not sure why the execs at Kenner thought this film equated to toys, heck I don't even know if these got made...

That would have been a lot cooler if it had little people and pets to run over instead of street signs.

It is basically the same premise as the Jaws game and in retrospect that was a gamble for Ideal if they didn't know whether the movie would be a hit and if a kids toy would translate to that?
          It's all good!

So Kenner was taking chances on stuff like this long before Alien?

It would have been more fun if it were a race track set.

That's a pretty solid theory, probably the most logical as to why they took the gamble.

                            Great. Now I want one....
I loved that movie as a kid. Only recently picked up the DVD.

                            Poor James Brolin.
First he gets attacked by The Car.
Then he has to confront The Amityville Horror.
                            Then he marries Barbara Streisand....

Talk about a run of bad luck....
                            .
                            .
                            .
"When things are at their darkest, it's a brave man that can kick back and party."
