At the risk of having my head bit off for guestimating - retailers should receive them
around Thanksgiving - hopefully sooner, maybe later.

China is going through a rough time right now because of what they call "the Mattel crisis" - lead paint used in pre-school toys. The government has set up inspectors
to check EVERYTHING leaving the country. My guy in China told me that nothing
was allowed to ship out the first two weeks of October in order for it all to be
inspected.

After SARS in 2003 (when I traveled to China to adopt my daughter) and the snafu
with the toothpaste a few months ago, the Chinese authorities are very keen to get
the lead paint problem straightened out.

My manufacturer just told me that they are working night and day to get their products
submitted and cleared by the inspectors, so please be patient.

I seen a kirk and klingon at a f.y.e. store and was amazed at how well they were done. I don't collect star trek but almost was tempted to buy these just for the thrill of seeing a "mego" for sale again. It was great to see it there. I think I'd buy the aliens to display with my heros for new villians. I think you guys at emce toys did a great job on these!

I am woefully overdue for setting that up. I actually had to place my preorder with Diamond for the third series based entirely on previous sales and wishful thinking. Imagine being afraid of having too many cases of Romulans on order! Wierd, huh?

Hopefully I will have the Romulan/McCoy series set up for ordering on my website this weekend.

Highly unlikely, I usually hear about their arrival a couple days before I get them, and I've heard nothing. They do not follow any set Diamond release, they just send them as soon as they can after they get them. Coming from China and clearing customs makes predicting the date to be an inexact science at best, more like a guesstimate.

Did my usual Wednesday night stop at the Comic Shop on my way home from work tonight. I was assured that the Andorian-Spock cases are confirmed for delivery two weeks from today.

That would be December 5th.

The latest (bad) news from Diamond is that Spock & Andorian are not scheduled to ship now until the first couple weeks of January.

Joe and I both have McCoy and Romulan for pre-order now on our websites. Not sure exactly when these are supposed to ship, but I am guessing February or March, since our official Diamond preorders for them actually ended a couple months ago, and our initial allotments could very well be all we see of them.

Scottie and Keeper are the next official figures in the line, with shipment scheduled for April. I will definitely be dialing down my preorders for these.

I strongly suspect that Uhura and Cheron will be the 5th wave released, as my sales rep has seen prototypes of these, and Doc needs a female body if he is going to do Zira.

After that, it is anyone's guess. I think to keep the line alive after that, they will likely have to add new crewmembers in order to continue the Aliens.

I wonder if they will even bother with the Talosian, because that would require a new body (unless of course they decide to go with a more show accurate outfit, and slap him on an 8 inch body, which would be fine by me).

So that leaves Gorn and Mugato, perhaps we could see Sulu and Chekov paired with them. Maybe even Yeoman Rand or Nurse Chapel to take advantage of the potential female body. Time will tell.

I was pretty surprised by that date myself, since they were supposed to hit the US in late Novemeber, and they tend to turn them around very quickly once they hit the warehouse. Maybe they are anticipating customs delays, but I am not completely convinced they won't ship before then, but I wanted to get the official word out anyway.

He probably thinks these ship with regular weekly orders, and hasn't been told otherwise, hence him towing the party line. These basically ship as soon as they get them in the warehouse, probably combined with regular weekly comic shop orders, but without them in the warehouse, then its highly unlikely. I got my allotment within two or three days of their arrival last time.

The reason for the delay in shipping has to do with the "Mattel Crisis" in China.
The lead paint fiasco has made the Chinese government very very cautious
about any toys shipping out.

Spock and the Andorian were ready to ship out at the end of October, but they
were not put on the ship until mid-November. I know that the ship should have
arrived by now in the U.S. but I don't have any information about the status
of them now.

I will know when my Diamond rep tells me that the figures are coming to my door.

I'm still hoping that they arrive by next weekend, but that may be just wishful
thinking.

No offense taken, and speaking for myself, it is probably even more frustrating for Joe and me, since we are hesitant to start taking orders too far ahead for future waves. I am going to have to guess how many 4th wave figures (Scotty and Keepers) I will sell before the end of the December, before I've even delivered the second wave figures. I did the same thing for Bones and Romulan, ordering over 20 cases without a single order to speak of.

Between EMCE being a new company, and selling toys from China with all the recent recalls, and the holiday season (which always adds time to international deliveries), we've hit upon the perfect storm.

Trust me, John, I'm just as frustrated as you are. I just had a guy call me steaming mad that his case of Spocks/Andorians wasn't delivered yet. I've explained to him about a thousand times that it's beyond my control, and that NO ONE has them yet, not just me, but he doesn't seem to get it.

I'm one of those personalities that can't cope with mail order anticipation.
The Kirk/Klingon delay was enough for me.

I must say I'm pretty disappointed with EMCE and diamond for such a long delay. If this keeps up Apes will be coming in about 2 years and I'm not exaggerating. BTW, are they still making Klingon /kirk or was it a one run thing?

Kirk and Klingon are sold out at Diamond (and have been for a while). Unless they do limited run variant editions, I highly doubt we'll see them again unless the entire line does gangbusters.

Hopefully the Bones / Romulan won't be too far behind. Although the delays with China toys due to recall concern will likely still be a factor, the post holiday lull should help mitigate the delays.

I don't know all the details, but I don't think it's fair to blame EMCE or Diamond for the delay. If China hadn't messed up a couple of months ago with all those other toys we all would've had an Andorian by now :yes:

I know the feeling. We're expected to places orders for Scotty/Keeper without having received Spock/Andorian or McCoy/Romulan, and it's frustrating. I've sold a bunch of Spock/Andorian but hardly any McCoy/Romulan because naturally people are waiting for the former before placing orders for the latter, and thus it's really hard to gauge interest in Scotty/Keeper.

Scottie (sic) will sell. Not only a main character, but the most wanted shirt colour for extra crewmen, so I plan to buy as many Scotties as I can find. He should prove to be the best seller of all the EMCE Star Trek figures. The Keeper, on the other hand just won’t sell. There will be a few of us 40-somethings that buy one for nostalgic purposes, but I don’t forsee any of us buying multiples, and the average Star Trek fan will pass. I hope Keeper is packed less per case than Scottie for that reason. Ditto for the Cheron.

That auction says in stock 12/26. So much for anyone getting them under the tree, but looks like 2007 is a possibility, with delivery on my orders the first week of January. I'll believe it when I see a shipping confirmation though.

This guy probably doesn't have them "in hand" yet but with the right timing he is way ahead of the rush. He could sell a bunch if they're delivered to him right when the auctions end. Sometimes it's a chance but if he hits it he'll sell out quick with no competition on ebay.

I saw this on action figure news site

According to EMCE toys the reason behind the delay is due to extra safety checks now in place for toxicity following 'Mattel-gate' as well as labor shortages at the Chinese factories.

Whilst the extra safety is sure to be welcomed by all EMCE recognise that some people will be upset about not getting their Spock figure until after xmas (currently estimated to be 8th January). Therefore anyone who ordered the figures through EMCE's online store at Starlog.com is getting a little card, in the spirit of the Star Wars IOU from 1977.

The card features a humorus picture and states: "Someone very special has ordered you our official MEGO Star Trek reproduction toys for the holidays. (However, a temporal rift in the space-time continuum has them locked in an alternate universe until after the New Year.)"

I can't afford them til the new year anyway:(

I got the card today. It shows Spock and Andorian with Santa hats. I can't say it's in the vein of the 1977 Early Bird, as the card is not redemable for some figure. But it was a nice thought.

I don't have them yet either - and I am a few towns away from Amok Time!

I am surprised that St. Mark's Comics in Manhattan got them last week, but
mysterious are the ways of Diamond Comics distribution system, and I will
leave it at that.

I do know that McCoy and the Romulan have sailed already and it looks
like China got through Christmas without further incident.

No invoice or shipping notice, so I am in limbo as well. If I remember last time, Diamond had two shipments they received. I was fortunate to be among the first who received them, having placed my pre-order early. Its possible that these stores placed theirs first and had large orders. Mine order was 50 percent larger for this round, but I probably waited until the last possible moment to place the order. I really hope I receive them this week because I will have a houseful of family for a late Christmas celebration next week, and sorting through nearly 20 cases of orders doesn't sound like a fun holiday event.

It sounds like a lot more holiday fun than seeing my wife's family, or watching
my brother get loud and stupid drinking too much wine, or have one more person
ask me if my new toys have lead in them!

My Spock/Andies arrived at my friend's house this morning - and he refused the
delivery! So hopefully tomorrow is be the day and I can get the Starlog pre-orders
out the door by Saturday.

I visited my 2 cases at t the comic store I ordered them from...I say visited because I am trying to stay away from using my credit cards to pay for them. The likeness' of the figures are spot on to the original Megos. The clamshell packaging even has a spot that the antenna's of the Andorian fit into so they won't get damaged and it acutually centers the figure in the packaging. Spock has that same somewhat "tanned" look that the Kirk figure has. I will be picking up my 2 cases next Friday...but I thought I'd just let everyone know that the cases have landed in the Northeast/New York Tri-State area.

I confirmed with my sales rep that the reason I don't have mine is that my order was late (maybe a day or so) and it is listed as an initial re-order opposed to an initial order. Its the opposite reason for why I got my order before anyone last time. I have been told I should get mine this week. I apologize for the delay, but people should see their orders from me within the next ten to twelve days.

Just picked up my Andorians today.Will pick up my spocks next week.I gave one of the Andorians to my son as a surprise and he went nuts over it.He has been playing with Ando for over three hours now!!!
So for that reason alone I send out a big thank you to Paul and the rest of EMCE toys for giving my son this opportunity that he would never have gotten otherwise!
So purist be Damned... :wink: (just kidding I love you guys as well)

Now the only problem to this scenario is:
His Andorian has two yes two right hands???

I did my best to explain it is because he is and alien and well aliens are just a little diffrent than humans.He said cool and then walked away???
I know the adult thing to do is exchange his ando with one of mine so I will when he mentions it. :yes: (Of course I'll trade him and then fix that one some how myself)

I remember something my mother used to always say to me:
"Two wrongs don't make a right, but three rights make a left!"
She had a phobia about making left turns in a car, so she would turn
right at a corner, then right at the next corner, then right at the
next corner to get to a traffic light, then straight across the road.
It took longer, but it worked.

Actually that is an original Spock in the pictures.

I am personally very pleased with these figures so far.I have gotten three kirks,three Klingons and three Andorians so far and only had one minor glitch.Not even sure Mego could boast that record. :smile:

You sure you want to fix that Andorian? you never know, 20 years from now there may be some crazy web-site (or the future equivalent) where a bunch of 30 and 40 year olds will pay big money for the ultra rare two right handed Andorian figure from EMCE! :)
