RETURN to ADVENTURE....with the FP A.P.

Return to Adventure with the Fisher Price Adventure People. What an amazing toy line and considering that Imaginext is basically a continuation of what this line is, I think it would be even cooler if Fisher Price would just bring back the 3 3/4 inch action figure line. Considering that the Imaginext is just a bit toyish, I would think that this would be a "cool" way to introduce kids into more realistic figures, but more than that, letting them make thier own adventures. Everything I have seen thus far is with a dvd/game of some sort and that's all well and good with marketing, but where does the Imagination part come in. On the back of almost every FP A.P. set, there was an open ended storyline that allowed the child to take the reins and go from there or make thier own story up. That was brilliance. Brilliance never goes out of style.

New sets could be the following

    MARS/LUNAR lander
    MARS/LUNAR rover
    MARS/LUNAR Rocketship
    ERV/Glider--earth re-entry vehicle--think Steve Austin, 6M man aircraft.
    ONE MAN SPACE POD

    BAHA 4x4
    Le Mans
    Minicooper racer
    BLUE BULLET-land speed racing vehicle

    SAR chopper (search and rescue)
    NEWS chopper
SAR C-130/HEAVY WEATHER or Arctic based with vehicle deployment.

Ocean Explorer with one man submersible--think Jacques Cousteau's ship with sea creatures and scuba teams.

More on this later, wife has to use the computer, if you have any suggestions, please put them down.

it would be neat if they made a 1970's retro style "in search of Bigfoot" set using a combination of the Wilderness Patrol set and wild safari set from the 70's (of course possible re-painted)

    these sets here:
#307 The Adventure People and Their Wilderness Patrol

    and

#304 The Adventure People and Their Wild Animal Safari

That would be cool, they could do all missing link and old footage stuff, that would be funny as hell.

I feel like Ive hit a major milestone. Of late, the box art has been very keen to my eye, so Ive decided to collect what I can when I find it.

            So far
            FP LAND SPEED RACER MIB
FP AERO MARINE SET--box is used but art is still very clear, once I get it Ill restore as best I can. The lid is torn, but Ive never seen one mib and the closest was thisoldtoy.com
            FP RACE CAR DRIVER-figure only.
            FP FUNNY CAR

I hoped to build up a decent display. the safari and the ocean explorer set will be pricey.

              Oh yeah, almost forgot

              FP ALPHA PROBE--decent box
FP ALPHA RECON-MIB, but I know I didnt throw the box out, I liked the art too much.

Its a shame the FP toy museum closed in East Aurora, NY, I would have loved to have seen what they had.

              Anybody ever been.

I dont know that I would want them with more articulation, Ive seen the WILDERNESS EXPLORERS sets at WALMART, they look like modern versions of the fp ap, dont really look all that great. I do love the ford trucks, humvees and helicopter (if I can ever find it)

                    Hmmmm....

I've fought the urge to collect these for a while. I ws thinkin' of doing 8" scale versions, but the temptation to get originals as models could be a problem.

I am very glad my parents spoiled me with many FP sets back then. I still have them all now. I loved the wilderness and safari sets. Later on I had the shark explorer set and though I have everything else it came with, my mom threw out the boat!!!! AHHHH

The Adventure People is one of my favorite toy lines, I had alot of the sets when I was a kid and remember many hours playing with them.

this was an epic line that seems to have hit a vey key nostalgia button- considering these were just toys not a movie tie in, they must be some of the most durable figures ever made- the things are indestructable.
you see a few with chewed feet but thats about it.
there was major re use of body parts on the line but they are fantastic. x ray man xray woman clawtron, they are fabulous.

The FP Adventure People were/are great! I had a lot of the sets as well. They are made so well that they hold up almost forever. I still have the parachute with the sky diver figure. When I'm in Indiana (at my parents), I play with it.

I used to love the scuba diver sets, too.
