Only stopped home on lunch break so no time to play but for those who were interested in the packaging, here ya go. Coffin style boxes, not flimsy cardboard, nice and thick. Plastic form tray with the figures twist tied from behind. That's all I got time for right now.

Got mine today also! I am by no means a big Buck Rogers fan but these are HANDS DOWN the BEST LOOKING, AMAZINGLY DETAILED, PROFESSIONALLY DONE "Re-Mego" figures on the market today! Other companies need to stand up and take notice (and in some cases look ashamed) IMO.

No, the boxes are larger than the WGSH ones.

This will be the standard size box I plan to use for all the 1/9 scale figures that my company produces so maybe at some point I could get cases made for them.

Just opened my first set. These are the most beautiful 8" figures I have ever owned. Craig, you have just raised the bar on what is capable in this scale.

The sculpts, outfits, paint application are all just perfect. I looked and looked, and couldn't find a single flaw. The ONLY suggestion I have is for the boxes themselves. The lid fits extremely tight. It was hard to get the boxes open without damaging them.

Overall, I give these a 10/10.

I'm extremely happy with the reactions the figures are getting so far and it seems like I managed to accomplish what I set out to do. Hopefully the sales will stay strong once the remaining pieces arrive from China so I can get started on other projects.

As for the boxes, I'm not sure what happened there because the samples I received from China were fine. This is another thing about the whole production process that drives me a little crazy. The factory samples don't always represent an accurate example of how the production pieces will turn out.

They look great can't wait to get mine. I'm glad that Zica made some great detailed 8" mego like figures. I hope Mattel can learn from this and make better looking DC Super hero figures not the junk they released. The BR boxes remind me of the old style mego boxed figures. That's the megos I collect. Not crazy about the carded stuff. The BR figures even pose nice with a great looking body not the Mattel bow legged bodies. I hope Zica can do BattleStar Galactica 8" figures from modern TV series . Would love to have a Boomer, Six, Starbuck, Apollo, and more. A great show needs a great figure.

The Toyroom
Dec 18, '10, 1:48 PM
When you get these you will be AMAZED at the amount of detail that is on these figures at this scale...Nothing like this has been done with Re-Mego before. For example, Tiger Man's tiger-tooth necklace is made up of twenty INDIVIDUAL tiger's teeth that can move independently up and down the string. Other companies probably would have just made a one-piece plastic necklace, ala Wonder Girl's like Mego.

Yes these are $30 each prior to shipping. But considering some on-line companies are charging $24.99 (plus shipping) for Mattel Retro-Action I don't think Zica's prices are unreasonable...in fact it's practically a steal IMO. :yeah:

Craig - these are AMAZING. I've been just staring at them for like a half hour.

It's unbelievable what you have accomplished here. The attention to detail is amazing. The quality is amazing. The likeness is amazing. The fit-and-finish of accessories is amazing. The precision with how the gun fits in the hand… I mean wow.

The level of articulation - how the body parts have a sort of "ratchet" to them. I also was afraid the bodies would be too "buff" based on the pictures but not at all in person.

I mean truly, these are the best 8" figures ever made. Period.

I have two minor complaints :) My Buck has a bad (open) seam on the back of his sleeve. Not a big deal. Also, Tigerman is impossible to stand. I think the choice of a soft-goods boot, while it looks great, makes it impossible to stand as the "plastic" on the bottom of the shoe has bowed slightly. Hopefully this will flatten over time. A harder plastic boot may have been a better choice.

Please please please Do BSG and SMDM :)

Any every other series, too, while you’re at it.

Sorry about the issue with the open seam on the sleeve. I had this problem on some of the samples and told the factory early on to be aware of it. Hopefully it won't be a widespread problem.

As for the issue with Tiger Man's boot soles, I talked about that problem in this thread (http://megomuseum.com/community/showthread.php?t=51481).

Stuff I found out when opening the box:
Tigerman has three sets of hands! Cool! I haven't attempted a change of hands yet, but very nice extra.

I shortened the necklace slightly, so it wasn't swinging around his bellybutton anymore, but kept enough slack so all the teeth and buttons are not packed too tightly together. I took my time aligning all the teeth and buttons, though I don't think Tigerman cares all that much. All of those miniature bits are nicely detailed, and you don't get a one-piece string of plastic here.

I peeled off the tape (which is easy with "fresh" tape), so the box is now nice and clean. It's a tight fit (but I like it like that:wink_y:), so I just held the box and let gravity do its thing, slightly wiggling it. Somebody posted that the box is tight to open, but the thick cardboard makes it look classy.

Thank The Maker for few "wiry things". I didn't have to spend an hour removing wires. They also didn't "dig" into the fabric of the clothes, which annoys the hell out of me, it usually makes creases that don't come out. They hold the figure, but not too tight.

Detail is great, just inspect the top gold bands on his boots. Nice feline touch on those.

Yeah, the soles of his feet are a bit uneven, but I love those boots. They're made like actual shoes, not injection-molded plastic.

I would have loved to have seen a picture of Gerard on the box, but maybe that was a licensing issue?

I'm keeping Buck in the box until next week. Goods things should be savored...

Stuff I found out when opening the box:
Tigerman has three sets of hands! Cool! I haven't attempted a change of hands yet, but very nice extra.

Take a little extra care when removing the hands if you decide to do that. Maybe even heat them up a little if you can. The hands can tear easily at the joint if you're not careful.

I took my time aligning all the teeth and buttons, though I don't think Tigerman cares all that much. All of those miniature bits are nicely detailed, and you don't get a one-piece string of plastic here.

The necklace should have two layers. Lay it out as one big circle and then twist it into a figure 8. Fold that over to make the two layers which is the correct design. There should be one layer of jewelry pieces resting on top of the other.

I would have loved to have seen a picture of Gerard on the box, but maybe that was a licensing issue?

No licensing issue, I just wanted to go with pictures of the action figures like they did with the original 12" MEGO versions.

But there are two actors who played him, right?
I think the figure looks more like the pilot episode Tigerman....

Tiger Man's sculpt was basically intended to look like a mix of both actors but I agree it looks closer to the pilot episode version.

According to the factory the figures should arrive in the US on 01/20/11 so I'll probably have them in stock again by the end of January. I was hoping to have them sooner but there was an unexpected problem with the shipper which caused a delay.

I dont even like Buck Rogers but WOW I had a hard time believing I wasnt looking at a 1/6 scale Sideshow 160 dollar doll.

That Tigerman is a massproduced custom. LOVE the box.

Other than the Trek and Apes I havent bought any ReMegos yet . But WOW!!!
( looks like I might break my New Years resolution$$$$$$, apologies to my wife. )

When the figures are back in stock, which will hopefully be by the end of this month, you'll be able to place an order through the website.
