Ardala
Gorn Captain

I really need to watch my DVDs again to see which figures might be cool.
Aren't there any exotic looking aliens, so we can get away from purely human characters?
And let's not forget: I want the exclusive Twiki with Disco Dancing action!

The one I remember most is the Space Vampire...I'll have to check out my DVD's as well, but I don't remember too many exotic aliens in BR...just lots of hot women. :drool_y:

They could always do Kaleel, PantherMan, Satyr Buck, Brig. Gordon, Hugo - the android prison guard, the War Witch Zarina, Varek, Cmdr. Royko, Traybor, Saurian ....

Ardala

Ardala
Vorvon
The fifth figure still hasn't been determined but odds are it will be a variation of the Draconian guard. Reason being is because that particular figure required a lot of tooling due to the amount of accessories and I'd like to get some more mileage out of it. Dr. Huer is another option but that will depend on my success at getting the factory to work with me on their MOQ for certain items.

So what about doing Dr. Huer as a regular wave 2 figure and offering the Draconian Guard variant as an exclusive figure?

Awesome news! Buck disguised himself as a Draconian Guard a couple times during the series...I'd buy Buck as a guard.

Is Twiki going to come with Dr. Theopolis to wear around his neck?

Definitely getting a Wilma. Dunno about Ardala. I always wanted to give her a good kick in the pants for being such a spoiled little brat.

That is a very good idea - Buck as a guard would allow you to get more mileage out of stuff you already have. I'd be more likely to get this variant then just another guard.
THEN you can still do Dr. Huer!! :)
I've re-watched most of the series at this point. The Gary Coleman character (Hieronymous Fox) would be good assuming you're building a smaller body for Twiki.
Brigadier Gordon would be a must for a 3rd wave.
Buck has a pretty distinctive causal outfit that's similar to the BSG suits I think would be a good Buck Variant, as would the Jacket/Pants suit he had later in the series vs. the movie-poster outfit he has on the launch figure.
Traybor from "Buck's Duel to the Death" has a very Khan-like vibe to him which I like, and one of the more memorable characters.
Also agree with Julie Newmar War Witch.
Like many, I generally dislike Season 2, although a Mark Lenard Arom Duvoe and Odee-X would be fun.
Koori as well since you're doing Hawk, and Wilma and Buck with updated Season 2 hair/outfits would work.

Admiral Asimov
Koori
the pilot who got married.

How about Buster Crabbe?
You already have the suit (for Buck), so a head sculpt is all you need...

I'm really curious about the female figure sculpt. What often puts me off, where female figures are concerned, is the "bare arm" look, which might be a problem in the case of Ardala. I really hope we'll eventually see a bare arm that doesn't look like a "robot arm" with many exposed joints. I actually like the male ZICA body sculpt in this regard, and Tiger Man looks great bare-armed. So I can't help wondering what's in store for the ladies.

I just hope that the arms on the females don't look like puny little sticks.
As per Buster Crabbe: I WANT ONE!

Craig, are you planning to give the Wilma and Ardala heads rooted hair? On one hand, this would be real "retro style", on the other hand looking at other figures, it never turned out really authentic in the past. Take the Mego Uhura for example. The head doesn't even slightly resemble the actor and and the 9" Uhura head by Playmates wiith molden on hair is a much better likeness.

Putting doll hair on these figures would be a mistake.
Put me down as a vote for a basic variant of the Guard though. I don't need two Bucks.

The generic head sculpt I'm having done for the female Z-Body will be a test of how well the factory can do with rooted hair. If they can pull it off, the plan is for Wilma and Ardala to have rooted hair.

Sometimes, sculpted hair doesn't convince, either.
I have female figures that look like they have a wet towel slapped over their heads.
Then again, my rooted hair bionic woman looks like she just put her finger in an electrical socket.
Very tricky to get right....
The hair, that is, not putting your finger in a socket....
i would LOVE to see rooted hair!

Wave 2 is sounding good. Here's my wish list for future waves:
Buck (Rafael Argos disguise)
OD-X
Dr. Huer
Kaleel
Joella Cameron (Markie Post)
Pangor
Jen Burton (Jamie Lee Curtis)
Hieronymus Fox
Female Twiki (Booty Booty)
The Legion of Death (Kellogg, Quince, Sherese, Varek)

If it saves you money you could do Wilma and Ardala with sculpted hair in this series. Wilma had her hair up to wear the fighter helmet in the film. Ardala had to have her hair up to wear that horny head-dress also.

I like the idea of a rerelease of the Guard. Army building is big in the Action Figure hobby and I appreciate the extra work done for a favorite figure.
And you know collectors will buy it.
Remeber the American Werewolf in London figure ?

I don't know how I missed her being on the show, but she is awesome. She'd be good for an Electra Woman custom, too.

Cool. Should we hold out any hope for a series 3 or are you pretty sure you'll be done after 2 waves?
Also, are you planning on having a presence at SDCC this year? Would a repaint SDCC exclusive (maybe Buck in a different outfit) make sense?

I think 2 waves will be it. Most of the major characters will have been done and I'd like to focus on new projects.
ZICA Toys won't have a presence at the SDCC. We might be attending the NYCC but nothing is definite yet. The only exclusive figure we have planned is Hawk and he's exclusive to the website. There's also been some discussion on doing Buck Rogers in his NASA space suit as an exclusive.

Buck in NASA space suit would be nice, at least if the exclusive is available world-wide.
Keep in mind that some of us live overseas. So please no exclusives that are only available in the U.S.

If Buck in his NASA space suit is made the figure will be available world-wide but I can't guarantee that will be the case for all of the exclusives.

Will the Hawk website exclusive be next, or after the final two of wave 1?
Btw: Hawk in his NASA suit remains my favorite look. I really hope this one gets made!

The plan for now is to release Hawk, Kane and the Draconian guard at the same time. Technically Hawk is part of wave 1, he's just a website exclusive.

Any general thought as to when these will be available?

I can't say for sure at this point but by the end of March I should be able to give an ETA on the remaining three figures. Being as the prototypes are finished it's simply a matter of telling the factory to start production.
Well,I think I'll be happy with the 10 characters were going to get if we dont get any others...it will suck if we dont get the the final 8 characters

I'm still waiting to see how well series 1 does before starting on prototypes for series 2. I think by the end of the third quarter I'll be able to answer the question a little better.

Craig I've seen the Ardala prototype head, I'm very impressed. What outfit are you planning for her?
Plus with Twiki, obviously your not going to be able to use the Zica body, how are you planning to pull this one off?

I've never had a prototype head made for Ardala so I'm not sure what you're referring to? Twiki will require all new tooling.
