October 21, 2007......found a Hot Wheels Batmobile in a KB Toys, Rotterdam, NY. I started lookling though the hot wheels cars that were on the pegs like I do whenever I go to a kmart or Walmart or KBs and was about to give up when I noticed a small pile of HWs on the shelf and low and behold....there it was!!!! I looked to see if I could find anymore but no dice. Just one. I have been looking for one of these for months, now it's MINE!!!!!! I went to pay for it and the cashier explained to me that the HWs were buy one get one half off but I told her that I only really wanted a Batmobile. She then went on to tell me that she saw two of them over there a little earlier so I went back to search again but could not find another. It didn't matter. I got one!!!!!!!!

oh man, I'm sorry I didn't know you still hadn't found one. I thought that they were showing up well enough now that everyone here that wanted one got one.
But finding one on your own must feel great! I know when I'm looking for an item at retail finding it without help is a great toy high

I have got to the point where i'm not even buying them anymore. Seen four in the last fortnight and passed on them all.
Good to hear you found one though.

I didn't know you were looking either. I have probably bought at least 30 of them...they make great gifts...even my mechanic was happy to get one ;) I have even managed to find a couple of the smooth front ones (as opposed to honeycomb grill)...I look every time I go to the shops. I suppose I will never grow up.

They are just now showing up in abundance in my area. I walked past at least 4 of them at Target. I managed to find both variations a few months ago, but didn't see any others for a while.

I must be in the minority because they are never around.
To my delight I also found my first one a few weeks ago....I literally went through the peg boards to see if there were any others but that was it.
The one and only one I have found to date.

I still need one with a smooth grill.

How many holes do the common ones have? I just checked mine out and they do have 5 holes in the wheels.

Five round holes or five spokes (called PR5 wheel)? The PR5 is the common, the one with 5 round holes is the hard one.

I found one today at Walmart. Right out in plain view on the outside if the peg. It was the only one out of about 200+ cars. I guess I'll spread some Xmas joy and give it away. Anyone want it just PM me and it's yours.
PS....HardyGirl, yours was shipped yesterday.

Saw the smooth grill one at CVS the other day. Two bits of bad news with that though. One,it was $1.49 and two,it looked like some kid took his hand and crushed the bubble.

The smooth grill batmobile must have no mesh in tail fins on rear of car to be a true smooth grill,as some smooth grills have mesh in the rear fins, also there are batmobiles without the blue screen but they could be package errors?
You got to love all these variants LOL.
