Great news and congratulations!!! I was on Amazon's site the other nite and they had the release date as October 25th which seemed so close, almost a tease yet I was expecting a longer delay as per previous posts. This is great news.

Wow! Excellent!
As a person in the printing industry, that proof looked mighty familiar. I put samples like that together for customers daily.
The multi-colored stripes at the bottom of the pages are color bars that the press will use to get the color correct and uniform across the page.
The signature stacking you mentioned is exactly correct for a perfect-bound book(whether soft or hardcover). Books that are saddle-stitched (like comics! Yay!) have their signatures placed each inside the other.
At least that's the way we do it.
Great pix and great that you savored it. You'll remember that moment forever.
Congratulations.

Congratulations Ben!

You are my hero!

Here's hoping for a New York Times best seller. Or, at least, a Mego Museum best seller. :)

Savor the moment my friend. You deserve it!

That has to be the coolest feeling in the world Benjamin. As much as the rest of us are excited about GETTING a copy, to actually open a box and see something you've dreamed about making happen, and something you worked so hard for so long to make happen, right there in front of you. REAL instead of as a computer file, well, that had to be just an amazing experience.

The wait for me is over.

Benjamin brought over the 1st printing of his book to share with me,
and it was overwhelming. This is the first time I've seen the pages actual size, printed front to back, in order, and feeling much like a book rather than unbound manuscript pages.

I leafed through it cover to cover, and was struck by the extreme attention to detail and the endless photos.

When this book reaches everybody,
my guess is that you'll flip through it first, looking at all the pictures, and probably reading just selected captions. Then you'll start over from the beginning and absorb every single word.

That's what I intend to do, anyway.

My brother ordered me and him a book a while ago.

By the look of the book there, I predict this book will be remembered for many many many years to come and be a top selling collector book. It looks fantastic!

Chillingly cool Benjamin. The race to the finish line is in sight, and you should savor your coast to victory! Its been such a long drama, and we've only been aware of it for a portion of the time.

Even though I know its not supposed to be here yet, I still looked on my porch for an Amazon package when I got back from vacation. When it finally arrives, it will be like Christmas morning for us all!

Here's to hoping that today is truly the day - Amazon no longer offers this for pre-order, but adds it to your cart!!!:
Amazon.com: Mego 8" Super-Heroes: World's Greatest Toys!: Books: Benjamin Holcomb (http://www.amazon.com/Mego-Super-Heroes-Worlds-Greatest-Toys/dp/1893905829/ref=cm_cd_f_pb_t/105-0919025-4897249)

The copies I have ordered are not listed yet as shipped, but I have actually had items arrive at my home before the website lists them as shipped. Fingers and toes crossed that my books are already in the mail.

Amazon Canada is suggesting a delay of a week here but they also have the author listed as some guy named "Benjamin Halcomb" so maybe I ordered the wrong book ;)

It's estimating my shipment arriving Nov. 1-3. Now, like others have said, Amazon's estimates are sometimes a little off, usually you get them before the estimate. Let's hope so!!!

Hey Meule, if I manage to get my copy of the book before I leave for Europe, I'm bringing it with me! It'll be great for the 8 hour flight. Come to the show and I'll let you have a peek :) Can't wait for the book to finally arrive!

I just got an Amazon email saying estimated arrival date is now 11/12/2007 - 11/20/2007, but that is in Australia so you guys should beat us by a fair bit I think.

Will be interesting to see who gets it first, make sure you yell "Bingo!" :)

Cheers,
Will
