Mother nature is so darn cool. A conservationalist buddy of mine sent these to me to illustrate endangered and rare species.

Ok, here's the wierdest of the bunch... a splitfaced mole from Ecuador. This is borderline nauseating

I seen a mole like that at my old house in Jersey about 30 years ago.

My dog dug it up and tried to eat it :smiley1:

I got it out of his mouth and it freaked me out when I seen it's face.

So, I guess they come as far north as at least New Jersey

If I saw that salamander comin' my way the forst thing I'd think of would be Toombs! from the X-Files. Then I'd keer-ap my pants and run away.

WOW! :Oo:

Great pictures. As to the second picture, the one below the frog, I was only trying to get a tan and certainly didnt realize that I was being filmed!

That mole-thing, yikes, is that related to the Predator??

Oh, and you are right on Stevenlore - that frog also looks like the character 'Euripides' from Galidor as well as Boss Nass!

Actually, that mole is a star-nosed mole and they are indigenous to east Canada and north-east USA. According to Wikipedia, they have been spotted as far south as Georgia along the Atlantic.
That's his nose, not face, that has the pink fleshy appendages. :)
