    Store bought Superheroics

Some more vintage Halloween submissions for our contest, starting by this one submitted by Austin (Megowgsh on the forum) and it's future in-laws and wife as Spider-Man, Mighty Isis and Bionic Woman respectively. That's a triple helping of Ben Cooper goodness right there.

Harris from the great blog Negative Pleasure sent in this fun mash up of "Super Cowboy"

Finally Lori sent in this cool shot of a very KISS inspired 1979, looks like Beth might have been everybody's favorite.

    More Fun Next Saturday!

I never owned a Cooper or any other store-bought costume. I always had homemade stuff, either that my mom sewed from patterns or that we scrounged and altered old clothes. Picking out the pattern and/or supplies every year was almost as big an event as back-to-school shopping. I love my old costumes, but the pics of those masks and tunics are awesome!
Hey! Where's the waiter with the water for my daughter?

              Check out my customs!

I think we discussed before, those inflatable costumes seen on the right in the last photo. I remember seeing commercials for those, and thinking they were going to take over tradtional store-bought costumes. They didn't hang around for long.

                  Cool pics!

I didn't realize Isis made it into the Ben Cooper line up. Not a bad tunic eithe, though, they did stay to true to Ben Cooper design and slap a picture of Isis onto the Isis costume. Darn, I hated that as a kid.
