    Oddly familiar giant gorilla

I found pretty trashed copy of the 1977 Multiple Toymakers catalog recently and the things that really struck me were these obvious King Kong Knock off sets. Both were marketed under the brand "Terror on the Tower".

This looks exactly like a set Mego made for the real Kong movie and I now really want it. Did anybody have these as a kid? I really want to know if they got produced.

Dont recall seeing those before? I do know MPC made an official licensed Kong set in the 60's to tie in with the cartoon, but these sets are way cooler.

Heres the only pics on line I could find of the old set. No resemblance at all to the new one!!

The target game looks cool, but what does the other one do?

Never saw those, but that playset is great. Love the box art. I really would have wanted that as a kid, and would still like one now to set up in my toyroom. I hope it was produced, because I want one.

Two very cool toys. I would have wanted them both.
