I'm totally apeing (hah!) Mitch's great trivia contest. But since my brain is full of useless info about men in tights, I thought I'd post it here.

Question: This chracter appeared in only one Golden Age Justice Society of America tale in the original run of All-Star Comics. Although he participated in the adventure, he was never given full or honorary membership in the JSA's original 1940-1951 run.

Who is he? Give me the right answer and you'll get a Mego Museum POTA card.

Could it be Johnny Thunder's Thunderbolt?

Just taking a wild guess.

Actually, thats a good answer, but not the one I'm looking for. In the 40s, especially, Johnny's Thunderbolt was pretty much just treated as a "thing" not a person. So I don't think the JSA would have ever really considered him as a member.

At first I thought it was Ma Hunkel - the Red Tornado. But then I reread and saw it was a he, and he'd taken part in the adventure - Ma was just at the headquarters. I've actually got two possibilities, so I'll throw out one.

Robin?

Nope, not Robin.

This guy is probably considered by most to have been a member of the JSA during the Golden Age. For years I thought he had been.

My only other guess I could think of would be Star-Spangled Kid.

David B in the golden age the Kid was a 7 soldier of victory

I initally thought Superman or batman but they were honorary members So I am going Sandy the golden boy

Not the Star-Spangled Kid. He didn't mix with the JSA until the 70s.

Sandy is another good guess, but he appeared several times with Sandman in his solo chapters. So he made more than one appearance. But he was never a member of the JSA during their original run either.

To be fair, all these are great answers. Thanks for playing!

We have a winner! Congrats to jds1911a1!

Mr. Terrific was the guy I was looking for. He appeared in only issue of All-Star, #24

There is a long-drawn out story as to why he and Wildcat mysteriously appeared, disappeared, and then Wildcat REAPPEARED as a JSA member, for one story. Check out Roy Thomas' All-Star Companion volume 1 for the whole messy tale.

PM me your address jds1911a1, and I'll send you your prize.

Thanks for playing guys. It was fun!

Thanks jds1911a1. I appreciate your effort to play fair. I actually have two ape cards, so you'll still get one! PM me your address.

Let's try another question, for another Ape card.

This popular DC character has had many different origins and backstories, and it's no wonder! Her first actual appearance was due to an editorial misunderstanding! She should not have existed in the form she was presented in that first tale, so a backstory had to be made up for her to fit in with her super-teammates.

Who is she?

All these JSA characters have me reminicising about those great JLA/JSA crossovers from the 80s, illustrated by George Perez.

Loved those stories!

Just to clarify, the character I mentioned isn't necessarly a JSA character. She has long been associated with one of DC's longest-lived teams though.

Wonder Girl?

Wondergirl.

Yep. It's got to be Wonder Girl. She was brought into the Teen Titans because the editor goofed - the Wonder Girl appearing in Wonder Woman backups was Wonder Woman as a girl.

Yep, it's Wonder Girl! Donna Troy herself. davidb already explained the continuity glitch that gave us Mrs. Troy, so I don't have to!

PM me your address censy and I'll get a card right out to you.

Thanks for playing guys! I have some exra WGSH cards, so I may do this again soon.
