    Jaws Goodies

I think one of the scariest things in the 1970s had to be the notion of a giant shark eating you. I'm slightly ashamed to admit this kept me out of lakes and occasionally pools as a pup. It's kind of hard to merchandise a shark seeing as he doesn't have any cool accessories or a vehicle of any sort but Imperial toys came up with a pretty neat selection for 1976.

Of course, even Imperial could resist the odd generic rubber animal and why not? To a kid, all sharks were Jaws!

Here is the Imperial Toys booth at th 1975 Toyfair, as you can see Jaws was a pretty big deal.

Oh LOU! YANA! I bet you had/have some of this stuff!

The only thing I had was stickers (decals) from a cereal box. I think those were from Jaws 2.

I lived and breathed that film when I was a kid, but never even heard of any of that stuff. I had a rubber shark and it was cool, but I don't think it was official Jaws product. I did have a T0shirt though. I wore that thing pretty much 'till it disintegrated.

I have a few of those imperial sharks as he was very popular. Most of that other stuff I never saw before. I Like you B will admit that I used to "scare myself" when swimming in a pool

The one odd Jaws item I did see (and technically fish torture) was the poster (no words) made as a back ground decoration for your general 12 gallon fish tank. Really if the fish kept seeing that thing with the teeth everyday....

I remember when I was a kid I would use the rubber shark from my Adventure Team GI Joe collection and place it in the water with my AHI Batboat. It would sink slowly so I could recreate the ending of Jaws fairly convincing for a kid. Poor Bats!

I had/have the game, too. As a kid he used to go after Aquaman a lot. (And as a kid, I never knew about A vs GWS)
                            It's all good!
