    Metal lunch Boxes

I have just bought a star wars "Empire strikes back" metal lunch box.
This isn't my first one, I found a original "Land of the giants" at a yard sale once. The old man holding the sale gave me a really strange look, when I wanted to buy his metal box of nails. But it was a great bargain, it only cost me about $2.

I never had one as a kid, my mom would always pack my lunch in a brown paper bag.

Has anyone else built a small collection of metal lunch boxes?

I just have a few. The 66 Batman, Super Friends, Super Powers and Marvel Secret Wars. Plus some of the mini-lunch box replicas (Batman, Super Freinds and Star Trek).

My brother and I had the Mickey bus, Pebbles and Bamm Bamm and Lidsville as kids.

Yep, I do! I was in the same boat as you, Mom brown bagged me. A friend took pity on me and gave me her Bobby Sherman lunchbox.

Anyway...I have Hardy Boys (of course), Knight Rider, SMDM, Emergency and Bionic Woman thermoses. Plus I have replica boxes of Land Of The Giants, The Monkees, Tom Corbett Space Cadet, 2 different Star Trek boxes and mini boxes of GIJoe and Star Trek.

I still use one and have it with me today. It's a Flash Gordon one from about 10 years ago, so it's not vintage. But the graphics are awesome.

I have lucked out and found some here and there not even really looking for any. I am not even sure which one's I have any more as I have found and bought them so far and in between.

I found one not too long ago at a thrift store. It was a really bizarre one that I had never seen. It was from the 70's so I picked it up any way. I posted a thread about it here in the Museum a while back. Apparently no one else heard of it either as the thread did not get any replies.

                hey Karen,

I have a six million dollar man action figure, without any clothes. Do you know where, I could find a replacement pair? I am not sure how big it is, but it does have a clear eye.

I ALWAYS wanted either a Hornet or Batman box as a kid, but ended up with.. 'Road Runner'. It took years of counseling to get over that, but I'm good now.

I've just picked up a few of the smaller repo ones back in the '90s for fun, like Bats and GI Joe ones. I'd love the POTA, Giants and few others, but I don't really have the interest in investing in vintage ones.

I still have my 1978 Star Wars lunch box and thermos. I still use it regularly. 32 years of lunch carrying abuse. it still looks good.
