    Repro 12" Knee pin help

I bought some Repro Knee pins from Dr. Mego and for some reason I can't get them to push all of the way through and snap in place. It seems like they are to short but when compaired to the original pins they are identical to each other. Any of you have a full proof way to get these Knee pins to snap all the way in so the leg will stay toghether? Heck just getting them to push all of the way through and snap in place would be great. Any advince would be great to hear.
Thanks to Technology I can be the Hermit that I am today.

I use channel locks. Make sure to wrap a loop of cloth around the leg to keep the teeth from damaging the plastic.
