    Brian,

I have to say I saw Star Trek episodes on the big screen at one of my first conventions in the 1980's and tho I had seen them numerous times there are things you don't pick up on watching it at home alone. Plus you can never tell how the audience would react to things. Sitting there with other people they responded to parts I never thought twice about. It might be a totally different experience than you think.

The closest theatre playing this to me is about 20 miles away...
To be honest, I never much cared for the Menagerie so i'll pass....

Now if they played Doomsday Machine on the big screen--- I'd be so there

Makes me wonder how they're going to project it.
Will they cut out the top and bottom to make it letterbox to fit the silver screen ?
Or just project it full screen.......
If they make it letterbox, that would be sooooo horrible.

        I'll be there and watching!!!

Wow, that's great! I'll going to local Cinamark 18 in Webster, TX and watching that movie. I don't care if it's the same move I had seen before.

        Thanks for let us know!

Don't really see the point. I'm suppose to shell out money for something I can watch on a big screen tv? Maybe I'm missing something.

If it weren't for the fact that I'd have to go too far away to see it, I'd go. I remember when The Star Trek Museum was touring the country and was in San Fransisco at Golden Gate Park, they were showing 3 of the original 6 movies, and even though I'd seen them on TV any number of times, (I've since gotten them on tape), it was really cool to see them on the big screen.

Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic

Is showing just down the road from my house. However, I noticed they are going to show it in its original format, so I don't think it will fill the wide screen

Think B.A. Where did you hide the Megos?

It's worth it for the experience of shared vieweing with other fans if and only if the price is low. I loved watching epsiodes at conventions for that reason and why when old movies are Saturday matinees I like to see them. The best home theater setup can't compare with the shared viewing experience.

......Just noticed they removed the Canadian dates altogether....and the front page now says Canadian dates coming soon....Hopefully, this will mean more venues?

Not the same even if your buds are the biggest fans. Odds are you have already had the show generated discussions with them so the interplay isn't there. Events like this are one place where people generally accept talking during the show
Imagine a dark room on your left someone is doing every line for some obscure character with every inflection perfect while on your right someone else is doing Kirk
That was why Star trek 2.0 on G4 was such a hit the during the show chat was like watching it with strangers
