Fun read as always. I loved these things as a kid. No Shot Wheels, Lova Soap or Crakola Crayons? Those were my favorites.

I bought some retro packs recently and was surprised how much my kids got into them. They just became addicted to the things.

I must admit it's really kind of comforting to see them all over their bookshelves.

These were great when I was a kid. Plus they were amazingly affordable. That said, I always was haunted by tghe feeling the feeling that I would never be able to collect them all.

When the new ones came out, I bought them by the box. I started handing them out in pairs at the office with a caveat- you had to stick at least one of them somewhere around the city. Yeah, I realize that pollution/vandalism. I did wonder if it was my doing when I cam upon one stuck on a mailbox near Union Square.

          Say....

Didn't someone actually make Beastball cards way back when? I can remember baseball and football playing monsters.

I'm pretty sure I remember those. The art work was more along the lines of Rat Fink, if memory serves.

BTW, I think I was fixated on the art work on the original Wacky Packages. I don't know why, but I just loved the strange dteail and ruddy complexions.

What? No GadZooka or Lavirus mouthwash?

My mom HATED these! After I bought 1 pack, she forbid to buy any more. But lucky for me, Wonder Bread offered these as well. So I had a few stuck to my notebook for school. (you weren't cool if you didn't have at least one stuck to your notebook.)

I had those plastered all over my wagon, my sister's old Snoopy lunch box (that I kept my Colorforms in) and various other things. They were the precursor to Garbage Pail Kids for me. Same kind of irreverent, gross-out humor.

TrueDave and haggis were kind enough to send me a bunch a while back and now I'm totally hooked.
