WalMart To Sell Religious Action Figures

For the first time, the world's largest retailer, Wal-Mart will sell a line of religious toys, according to a WKMG-TV report.

More than 420 Wal-Mart stores nationwide will begin carrying the faith-based toys that include Jesus and Samson action figures.

Only about one-sixth of stores will carry the toys.

A Wal-Mart representative told USA Today that stores that sell a lot of Bibles will carry the new line.

The toys are produced by One2believe.

The company targets parents who would rather their children play with the faith-based toys rather toys rather than other super hero action figures, the report said.

The items will likely go on sale early next month

*Toys are on sale now and they have some decent headsculpts...they are 12" figures though...click link below for pics...*

    "Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn"

In the Southeast Pacific, lies the sunken city of R'Leyh. There lies C'thulhu waits to return to our world with the other Great Old Ones. A hideous creature of enormous size and alien power, it waits for it's time to return patiently. For it has all the time in the world while it waits for the stars.

I saw some at a Wal-Mart a few months back. They were Rescue Heroes-type chunky figures. They also had some larger figures that were a little more realistic, but still cartoony.

I've only seen them at on Wal-Mart in my driving area.

i was just at super walmart yesterday and noticed that all the figures racks were empty except for the religious figures. they seem to be the only ones not going anywhere.

Good for walmart if they want to sell them. I don't see a problem with this. Just don't buy them if you don't like them. They sold ghost rider and spawn (both figures related to hell) why not religious figures?

Ghost Rider and Spawn ARE religious figures. Hell is a religious concept, not a secular one.

Add Thor to the religious list for that matter.

As a Christian I'm glad to see these toys sold at a major retail store, but I do hate the if it's a "Christian toy" it must look like a pre-school toy thinking, and boy do these guys look lame! I would love to see some religious based toy lines made that could hold up next to other toy lines.

Urban ninja cyborg Jesus still wouldn't sell without a movie, tv show, or video game tie-in.

I don't think they would sell very well in Wal-Mart either.

Unless of course they came with a Jesus in a WWE branded Triple Threat Cage Match Walmart limited edition, then all bet's are off!
