2,500 yen is about twenty five bucks! High ticket item for those days.

This would have been a cool playset for Mego to bring here as a Micronaut base.

Heee heeee!
Those ads are awesome! "Punch Robo vs Death King" NEEDS to be a movie.... from the title alone! The Diaclone ones are my faves; mostly for the music.
"daia.... KU-RONE!"

Cleary, Japanese advertisers did not suffer the same rules that damned the original AJ ads. These ads treat toys more like my imagination did.

Those are cool!
I remember watching that first commercial clip you posted back in the mid-70's. As a 4th & 5th grader, I'd watch Kikaida and Raideen on Channel 56; that one commercial was always on.
When I started collecting toys, I was convinced that it was a Kikaida figure that ran faster than a speeding bullet and stopped a toy train in its tracks. After a long search for this non-existing Kikaida figure,:wall: I finally came across this Microman clip on YouTube one day. :brood:
Still a wicked commercial. :yeah:

LOVED Channel 56. All the good toons. Watched Gorengers! Ultraman, Raideen, Getter Robo and trying to recall the others. All the cool toy commercials from Japan too.
Glad to see another person recalling this great channel. Didn't they broadcast out of Corona?

I thought it was Long Beach...who knows, but what a great channel. When I tell people that I grew up watching Kikaida they always assume I lived in Hawaii.
