    What's a MEGO meet like?

I drove through Wheeling one weekend during the first meet but was on my way to stay with somebody.

I've been to Comic shows, Horror shows, Nothing bigger than Motor City.

I just want to know if theres enough 12" goodness for me.

Theres a lot of 12 Mego stuff I like I don't have. I'm interested in loose costumes. I already have bodies I custom.

is it like a 1970s love fest with Oscar Golman and Rom on the side ? Lots of 70s Nostalgia on teh board.

Its filled with unicorns and rainbows and everybody wears candy pants.

Seroiusly, there are actually lots of great stuff for sale there. It does however, reflect the general availability of the larger Mego market- mostly 8" stuff with some 12" and 3 and 3/4" thrown in. there are some other 70's and 80's stuff there also.

The real fun of the Meet, however, is meeting and hanging with all the other Museum members. Its pretty geeked out and lots of fun.

And one or two people do wear pants made from candy.

The best way to get a feel for it is to look at the photos from past meets. That's a pretty good indication of what has been available in the past. Although I think Tom still has to add this years photos. Also, if you tell people what you are looking for before the meet chances are someone will bring it. Usually happens when we all post our "want list".

But like Wee said the real fun is meeting and hanging with friends.

Make sure you place your order well in advance to ensure that it arrives in time for the meet.

Hey Dave. There's no way around it, it's a geekfest. It's a bunch of 40-something guys hanging out talking action figures, comics, movies and most pop-culture stuff. And there's a few things to buy too. It can't really be compared to any other shows as it's more reunion than convention. I don't plan to miss one as long as they exist.

I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

Dumb question from a newby. I saw Wheeling posted, is that Wheeling Illinois? I am only about 80 miles from there.

In my imagination a Mego Meet is like warm apple pie.

                          Oh yeah.

A bunch of middle aged Geeks (and others) getting drunk and playing with dolls!
Too many toys. Not enough space!
