Or so I heard.
IMDB has him down as playing "Matt" in the movie. Matt Hooper is what he played in JAWS for the uninitiated.

Say it aint so... Richard was wise enough not to appear in the Jaws sequels but this is true shlock
I know his career has tapered off but surely he saved enough money from all the successful film he did over the years

It has a hell of a cast. Plus, isn't it a Coen brothers film? It seems like those guys can get things done.

I must not have caught those trailers the ones I saw looked like a "serious" monster fish horror film like Anaconda :ugh_y: but if done as a send up the way that the Evil Dead series was then it could actually be watchable

Piranha 3D may have a better cast, but the award for best NAME for a modern bad monster movie goes to "Sharktopus":

I'm thinking this is going to be more like a bloody 'Eight Legged Freaks' or closer in tone to something over-the-top like 'Slither' or 'Feast' than something to be taken pseudo-seriously like, say, 'Saw' or 'Hostel'.
Anaconda was trying to be serious (and has some stuff in it that does get under my skin, horror-wise), but really can't be taken too seriously.

never saw slither or feast and gave up on Saw but my 20 year olds likes it.
I know Anaconds took itself seriously (hence my quotes on the word) but no one else could it was rediculously laughable.

He appeared to be the same character in the trailer I saw for it.

Umm not sure if you saw the trailer or not but I would not call it tongue in cheek. I would however call it another **** pile looking mess that had the complete caliber of something that would air on the syfy channel
I mean the film looked, really, really, really bad and not in a good way at all

They're playing that character for laughs.
Which is more or less a reflection on Dreyfuss' career at this moment.....
Heres the trailer , a lot of salutes to other horror movies!

It's several notches above an SF channel production, at least in budget, cast, and crew.

It does to a certain Degree ...
However with the few Has Been A list stars in the Flick ( at 1 point in time or another in thier Career's) It might be as good as Lake Placid was.
I haven't seen Dryfuss in anything Worth a Damn Since "What about Bob" ...., But then that was Also the Last time I seen Murry in a Role in something New that I liked too.

I'm not seeing a comedic horror vibe in this trailer either but at least a large volume of obnoxious rich kid frat boys might get eaten. I'm sure this will air on FX or TNT later ad nauseum I'll see it without wanting to
