Yeah, I've passed on his stuff before due to the hinky feeling I got when reading his descriptions.
There's also a high-profile fella who LOVES to play around with words in his auctions and has managed to garner a good reputation despite this.

I dunno, but that title and description don't jive up and will come back to bite him on the behind.

No Return Accepted means nothing when selling on ebay.

"Then don't bid. Oh wait, you can't. I blocked you"

Niiiiiiiiice

Would it be better if he listed the figure as 100% complete?
And the in the description said that the emblem is repro?

100% complete would be better than saying that it is ALL ORIGINAL....if this had been a buy it now for a great price im sure someone would have hit the buy it now and having only read the title thought they were buying an ALL ORIGINAL Shazam....

This kind of stuff really irritates me..just be honest about what you have...

and for that seller to respond like that is not cool at all....he could have one of my grails and i'd pass on it....not cool.

I hate it when sellers are deceptive like this; I don't know why you'd risk getting hit with negative feedback or a chargeback in an attempt to boost your final sale price. I'm really glad I have most of the Megos I want at this point; these "high quality China reproductions" are making it very difficult for 100%-vintage collectors.

Yes indeed.
So what is weclone's handle here and why isn't someone calling him out for this kind of obvious deception here in the forum?

That's a Benbarb description de-fonted.

Yep, that's me.
Septembergurls: You were pretty snotty towards me in your message and called me a liar. You forgot to mention that part trying to make me look like the bad guy.

My titles are cut and paste, to get people to click and look at my auctions. It's not in any way meant to deceive. It's no different that what everyone else on ebay does. My descriptions are accurate and list all flaws and repro parts. Some of you have even bought from me before off ebay and have been satisfied with your purchase.

Yes, it pretty much is a benbarb description reworded. Since the majority of my figures came from them, I really didn't see the harm in it.

And I stand by my comment: If you don't like the way I list my auctions, don't bid.

Then don't bid. :smiley1:

Had sept.gurls approached me with a COMPLETELY different demeanor, I would have NO problem changing things up. Like I said, I'm not out to deceive anyone. But snide comments and name calling... just isn't cutting it.

Cutting and pasting an accurate description for someone elses figure, does not make it accurate for your figure.
I believe the point here is that you state "Mego 8" Shazam all original, vintage".

If it has a repro emblem, high quality or not, it isn't all original. Thus the grumbling.

Keep it simple. "Mego 8" Shazam". Then people will read the desc. to see whats og and what's repro.

This I can work with.

Items with bids, can't be revised. Those without have been.

MegoRonin: The descriptions are not direct cut and paste from benbarb. The way it's worded, yes, but the actual descriptions are an accurate description of the figure up for bid.

I'm not out to deceive anyone.

Really?, because your deceptive listing would indicate otherwise.

and before you say it, don't worry I won't bid. I only buy from trustworthy people.

I revised the listings I could, but obviously, that just isn't good enough. Tell ya what, those of you who want me to put you in my blocked bidders list, just post your ebay name. I'm more than happy to oblige.

Dude relax. You were good for revising what you could. I just think a lot of us don't like auctions with deceptive titles that don't match what is being auctions. You do have some nice stuff up for auction and I wish you luck.

Good thing to do. Most everyone realizes trying to get the most out of your items when selling on ebay.

I see nothing wrong with the title reading NM(whatever) Mego complete!

Then saying in the description All original mego except the high quality emblem etc

Hey, if you bought them from Benbarb and relisted the same ones using the same description, it's fair.

I know what you're getting at with the title listing, but a number of us have tried to correct that in the past so you're catching residual blowback.

Your offer to block names is actually a fair gesture.
