To Drill or Not To Drill?

Ok, so I have a bunch of 3.75" figures on display in a curio cabinet. As you may know, several vintage 3.75" figure lines (like clash of titans) do not have peg holes in their feet like gi joes/star wars do...that allow them to be placed on figure stands. I was actually thinking about using my dremel to put peg holes in their feet.
It may kill the value, but I am not really worried about that...

any thoughts?

You might change your mind later. I'd avoid any permanent modifications if at all possible. I'd try an adhesive magnetic strip to the bottom of the feet (you can cut to size) and possibly a strip of metal or another strip of magnetic tape to the bottom of the shelf to keep them steady.

Hmmmm....

I'd avoid the drill 'cos there's a good chance it'll crack the feet. If you want them to stand safely, use double sided carpet tape.

I definately say don't drill. Instead use some kind of sticky tack or even maybe the 3m sticker that adheres their removeable hooks. Something to that effect might work. Definately do some research before using.

Suerglue. Actually hot glue works okay. and peels off pretty easily.

Do it man! I modify all my figures because they are mine and I really dont care how much they are worth, they are all priceless to me.

Double stick foam tape- used it many times as figures stands for 'holeless feet' figures.

No drilling, unless you want to. Then drill away. But I say it's a bad idea.

You could find some other stand to hold them up.
I have seen some that the ends of the feet slip into or that clip to the heels.
If you drill the feet,you will ruin the figure.
Then again,it is your figure but there are alternatives.......

I wouldn't drill. Like starsky mentioned, a small amount of putty would keep 'em standing. I've always used this for all my free standing figures, regardless of their size:

My advice, no drilling...There are plenty of other great suggestions here to keep your figures upright.

Never drill I know some one who has it never works out. the figures with the moled holes work better, Blue tack works when all else fails. I know you can raid some Japanese Gashapons for their stands (some have clips to attach to the legs). I also met someone who cut magnets to match the feet & attached them to the feet so they can stand. I dont remember what he used to attach them but I know what ever he used could come right off with no damage to the figure.

Neat idea! You can get self-adhesivve magnets at print shops: they're for attaching business cards too. You can cut them with scissors too. (I used a few for my repro OMBC "spears.") 'Course, you'll need metal shelves....
