Indiana Jones 2nd Run Update Thread

Hey,
Figured this would be the right place and the right way to keep everyone up to date on how the 2nd run of the Indiana Jones figure is coming. Final payments were received Sunday night: Final total - 18 figures ordered, 13 painted and 5 not painted.
Over the next couple of days, I will be contacting all my suppliers to start the ball rolling. I will email each person who ordered individually when the figures are done and being sent out - however, until that time, this is where I will post all updates.
Let the fun begin!!

** UPDATE JULY 2nd, 2010 **

Hey,
Well, orders and emails have gone out to all the suppliers of parts. Started casting all the hats I will need for the second run - should have those done by the end of the weekend. Also will finish the idol casting and painting as well as whip construction by Monday. Will update as more info becomes available.

UPDATE AUGUST 16, 2010

Hey,
Sorry about the length of time between updates, but life, once again, has interferred with life. Now, however, things are back on track. Just received notice that Dr. Mego has finished with the molding of the boots and machetes and the parts are on the way. The box looks great and I hope to have the completed boxes in in the next few weeks. Have not talked to Brian lately about the jackets, but I am sure he is cranking them out. The hats and idols are done, so most of the pieces are either here or coming soon. My original plan of the beginning of August is obviously shot, mostly due to my inability to get this project put ahead of the other things I have to get done in my daily routine, but I am hopeful that I can muster the energy and time to see this thing completed in the next 20 to 30 days and ship to everyone who has ordered.
Thanks for the patience and understanding. More updates will come on a much more timely basis in the next couple of weeks.

UPDATE 8/18/10

Just heard from Austin that the heads are on the way. Brian let me know the jackets should be done by the end of August. Mego73 is working on the boxes. Everything is looking as though I should be able to finalize the figures and get them out by the second week in September, maybe a little sooner. Will keep you updated as events unfurl.

UPDATE 9/22/10

Hey Guys,
So here is where we are - both the boxes and jackets are in, and look great, as I would expect from Mego73 and Brian. Having a bit of a problem with the heads, but they should arrive very soon. All the secondary accessories (idols, whips, hats) are done and packaged. Just waiting to get the head, paint the head and ship out.
Will try to be a bit more current on the updates in the future, but everything is still a go.

As seen on the previous page, I was goodnaturedly ribbing ya because
I thought it wise to let Chris get past that "full 2nd week" back in Sept.
before asking any questions. Reason being, I always see stuff like this taking LOTS longer than what is promised, and looking for action 12 days into a two-week mention...well, I thought it was amusingly premature.

Even with THAT mindset taken into consideration, this unfolding scenario,
a few months later, does appear to me to be a travesty and and an insult.

Remember that scdene in RAIDERS where Belloq jokingly says "You're
going to give mercenaries a bad name."?

Well, that sentiment comes to mind, regarding time-stretching
customizers et al in this scenario presently.

I'm not apalled by the "time" taken w/the figures, mind you...it's
just the total lack of updates that really actually turns the knife here.

I'm Anxoius too. BUT, it took them months to get ready for Mego Meet, then they needed a break. Now it will take months to get the second order ready. Then they're going to start on next Mego Meets exclusive. i can see how this might tire them out some. Chris will update when he has something to say. We all just need to be calm and patient, even though most wanted ours by this week i can imagine.:yes:

My patience has expired. My thoughts are that Chris (et al)
has every reason to post something at this point, even if it's
just another guesstimate..

I saw that too... and wasn't satisfied.

I say if Chris has been detained... then someone else should be posting
in his his stead.

IMHO, all you have to do is look at the scenario
to see this stance of mine holds water. With respect
to bobws, bobws' post/stance reads like all too much spin
on the scenario (i.e. "Chris will update when he has something to say."
being the most inappropriate of the multiple points.)
... that's good for some politics, I guess,
but why should it be appropriate for what's going on here?

Reading the thread as a whole, it's clear to me that it's time
that someone from the IJ project issues a statement regarding
the status of the project.

I don't have a stake in this as I got mine at MM (just one of the many reasons all of you should make it this year)
I am concerned about Chris . . . he's always been a stand up guy and there is NO reason to think otherwise here. So then you have to consider other things. I pray that he and his family are doing well.

If you have to boldly write this, then you are missing my point Jim.

a. I never said i was thinking Chris wasn't a "stand up guy". I was merely pointing out that I don't sit well w/the fact that the INDY updates have
no congruency or regularity thus far.... and all signs point to a much
needed update... even if it's just a freakin' "hello".

b. This project is bigger than Chris.... there are multiple people involved,
and my comments were never intended to land squarely on Chris. But it
seems many are assuming that, as Chris is the only one from
the INDY camp speaking in this thread. Okay.

with that said.... Chris' rep is a small part of what's going on here.
Yes, I am concerned about Chris' well-being first, certainly there
