Man have I got a nasty word for you. 14 miles. You better walk just to make it more even. Actually crawl, backwards, in shorts.

I'm actually about 200 miles closer for the trip in cuz I'll be in NY for work. The trip home is the killer. 12 hours after three days of little to no sleep. The last 3 hours by myself are tough. I usually nap when I hit CT. I don't stop, I just put it on autopilot and rest my eyes.

I think Paul Wasson wins the furthest distance award this year, and I have wrapped up the lifetime distance traveled award (over 2000 miles each way for the past 6 years). With the drive from the Pittsburgh airport added, I estimate I will have traveled well over 25000 miles (or around the world) coming and going to MegoMeet. Until the Aussies or Belgians show up, I think I'm safe.

We may have traveled the farthest, but it wasn't easy.

We made it back to Oregon, but it was questionable as our flight from Denver to Portland was canceled, so they books us on a plane from Pittsburgh to Chicago on a flight that had already left according to the boarding pass. It turned out the flight was delayed enough that we got on it, but then had to spend an hour on the tarmac as bad weather in Chicago was preventing flights from departing. When we got to Chicago, we ran to the Portland gate where they had already shut the door. They held the flight and opened the door for us and asked for our boarding passes. I told them that the person at the desk in Pittsburgh hadn't returned our boarding passes for the second flight. However, they looked us up and printed new passes and we got on the plane.

Ben was very happy to show his younger sister all the stuff he got from the meet, and now they both want to go next year!
