Man have I got a nasty word for you. :terror: 14 miles. You better walk just to make it more even. Actually crawl, backwards, in shorts. :googly:

I'm actually about 200 miles closer for the trip in cuz I'll be in NY for work. The trip home is the killer. 12 hours after three days of little to no sleep. The last 3 hours by myself are tough. I usually nap when I hit CT. I don't stop, I just put it on autopilot and rest my eyes.
I think Paul Wasson wins the furthest distance award this year, and I have wrapped up the lifetime distance traveled award (over 2000 miles each way for the past 6 years). With the drive from the Pittsburgh airport added, I estimate I will have traveled well over 25000 miles (or around the world) coming and going to MegoMeet. Until the Aussies or Belgians show up, I think I'm safe.

We made it back to Oregon, but it was questionable as our flight from Denver to Portland was canceled, so they books us on a plane from Pittsburgh to Chicago on a flight that had already left according to the boarding pass. It turned out the flight was delayed enough that we got on it, but then had to spend an hour on the tarmac as bad weather in Chicago was preventing flights from departing. When we got to Chicago, we ran to the Portland gate where they had already shut the door. They held the flight and opened the door for us and asked for our boarding passes. I told them that the person at the desk in Pittsburgh hadn't returned our boarding passes for the second flight. However, they looked us up and printed new passes and we got on the plane.
Ben was very happy to show his younger sister all the stuff he got from the meet, and now they both want to go next year!

I Really regret not getting a chance to talk with you Paul. I spent most of my time at the Meet on Friday, as I had plans on Saturday. Stopping by on Saturday, only to grab a few things I missed on Friday, and to bid everybody a happy thanks!
next year I'll be there with a table, so hopefully I'll get to spend more time with you guys!

I'm terrible with connecting usernames, real names and faces sometimes, so we could have talked and I didn't make the connection, but I'm glad to here you enjoyed it and will be back! Next year, make sure you put the Mego Suite on your agenda.

Hey, Somebody's gotta be the Local......just glad its me this time.
I don't mind driving to Pittsburgh or Columbus for my fun (Both have great comic cons), but it's nice when there's an event in your own back yard!

I certainly will. This was my first Meet, and I had a very specific itenerary of what I wanted to accomplish. And I didn't have a lot of time to do it. I did have a small amount of 'mad money' but for the most part, I was gathering parts for a project. I did not completely achieve that goal, but that's okay, because I now have contacts with which to move forward anyway.
This year I was getting a 'feel' for the atmosphere. Next Year I'll arrive ready.
