rrod help please!!

well, I got the rrod on my xbox..the thing is I bought it on Craigslist about a year and a half ago. He gave me the original reciept. So my question is: when you sent it to sony do they ask for an ID or when they ship it back to you do you need an ID to claim the package?

First off, send it to sony and you are going to be laughed at, try Microsoft's website. They have a decent customer service staff that will walk you through. If it's out of warranty though, they charge you. I am on my 6th (count 'em) 6th xbox360. Horrible hardware.

i can walk you through fixing it if its the standard 3 red rings. but you have to be pretty handy with electronics, it involves taking the xbox 360 completly apart. applying arctic silver on the memory chips then putting it back together.
